The staff were ok, the bed was comfortable enough and the shower in the bathroom was pretty decent. It was very conveniently located as far as my particular needs were for this trip.
The only hanging space in the room was a tiny rail behind a mirror, not particularly ideal for a wedding suit and shirt. No kettle, no fridge, no river view (although I’m sure I requested one at booking). All a bit too basic and kept just about to a minimum level of clean.

Breakfast great
Room was too hot and not able to adjust temperature. No kettle in room. Bathroom was not clean properly. There were no toiletries except hand soap and shower gel.

The hotel is centrally located near the train station, and by the river with walking distances to bars and restaurants. The room was very nice, clean and the bed was comfortable. The breakfast had a good variety with fruit, cereals vegetables, bread, egg & bacon etc.
I have two issues: 1) I came in the evening by car with some expensive but heavy luggage and I booked this hotel to get safe parking as they listed parking among their facilities on their booking.com profile. This was not correct, instead the receptionist explained that there were various possibilities for public and private parking nearby. I had to pay NOK 190 for parking the car in a open unguarded parking house overnight. It's obvious that a city with more than 100.000 people have parking spots, but just because these happen to be nearby the hotel does not make them a hotel facility. I see from the guest reviews that this has also been addressed previously, so the hotel administration is well aware of this, without correcting it. 2) They had also listed an a la carte restaurant among their facilities, but this had been closed every weekend since mid-november (I came second weekend in December). Nevertheless, when I arrived the breakfast area was packed with visitors that were being served christmas meals. The hotel guests however, were referred to restaurants in the area around the hotel. I had been driving for more than 9 hours and had to get up early next morning to drive a similar distance. So I looked forward to relax over a meal at the hotel restaurant and go to bed, not having to go out on the town. Services may of course be unavailable on a short notice due to unforeseen circumstances. Apart from that, the information a hotel provides should be reliable and accurate. That was not the case.
