About this farm stay rental
The standard price is $480 per night for 2 or more nights. In addition there is a HomeAway/Stayz service fee.
Named after an Irish village in County Cork, Arda Cluggen is a double storey double mud brick home that welcomes up to 10 or more guests for a cosy inviting retreat.
Situated high up on 200 acres of rolling hills, it commands stunning views of the surrounding countryside. It is the perfect place for you to relax with family and friends and well behaved pets!
Solid timbers, a Coonara wood heater and large open fire make for a welcoming and homely retreat in the winter months. Slate floors and spacious living areas also make for a comfortable destination in warmer months.
Arda Cluggen is very close to many attractions:
Close to Limestone Track Winery
5 minutes: to Mt Franklin, Chocolate Mill, Guildford Vineyard & Cellar, Guildford Local Store.
12 minutes to: Hepburn Springs, Lavendula (Lavender farm), Cricket Willow - home of the cricket bat.
15 minutes to Daylesford, Castlemaine and Newstead.
The Property:
Take time out to enjoy to enjoy 200 acres of natural surrounds.
For the more energetic guests, take a walk through the adjacent property (that belongs to us), listen to the frogs as you walk past the dams and up to the shack. Take in the view, and then descend to the 100 acres on the far side of the property.
On warm days the more daring may fancy a dip in the dam. If not, why not try your hand at yabbying in one of the 9 dams!
Alternatively relax on the verandahs and see if you can spot the eagles. Kangaroos may visit during the day, but at dusk hundreds hop from the state forest into the far paddocks to graze.
At night, enjoy a barbecue, watch the sun set and marvel at the stars on a clear night.
PLEASE NOTE: The house sleeps 10 people in beds. We have 3 x stretcher beds suitable for children and young adults to sleep up to 13 people.
It does not have internet access but good reception for your mobile internet.

Our stay at Arda Cluggen was excellent. The house was spacious, very well equipped and cosy across a misty and cool long weekend. We used the outside fire pit for damper making and spent many hours wandering the expanse of the property. Lots of wildlife to spot and we tried our hands at yabbie catching in one of the dams - no luck this time but we plan to try again on our next visit! Excellent communication with our hosts. All in all a great venue for an extended family stay.

We had a wonderful long weekend at this classic farm house with lovely walks around the property, kangaroos and wineries close by. Our host was very helpful and the fire places kept us warm as we cooked yummy food all weekend. Would recommend any small group of friends to book this home. Thanks Sue.

The house was a bit untidy with cobwebs and dust everywhere. We also found a lot of spiders and other insects inside the house, one spider jumped out of the blanket when we got into it.
The house leaked when it rained, and flooded the bathrooms both downstairs and upstairs. A few lights weren't working either.
Bed and blankets were dusty and one of the pillows had dirt on it.
The games room was nice and cozy, but the games were all missing pieces.
Unfortunately for us, there was a hailstorm on our first night and it damaged our car heavily as it was parked in front of the house as there was no covered parking. Acknowledging this is no one's fault.
