About this chalet rental
Nestled in Indian Lake, this lovely chalet for $200 per night is a great option for your next vacation. BAVARIAN STYLE CHALET OVERLOOKS the valley of the Sleeping Squaw Mountain Range. Living Room with 2 stories of windows leads to your 12x14' deck above the large yard and path leading to the lean-to by the pond, fire pit and picnic table. Sleeps 8, The house is well-equipped, clean, attractive featuring a Soapstone wood stove, (wood provided). A well equipped kitchen is open to the main living room and allows you to enjoy either the mountain views, wood stove, TV and opens onto the large deck with seating and tables. WINTER DELIVERS lots of snow and access to great snowmobiling, cross-country skiing out the door or Garnet Hill Lodge (world class) and Gore Mountain Ski resort is only 18 miles away. Free ice skating can be found 1/2 mile away at the Indian Lake Ski Center. FALL FEATURES some of the best foliage imaginable, see our photos. SUMMER PROVIDES access to countless adventures involving streams, rivers, lakes, fishing, hiking trails and mountains. REMEMBER: Plenty pillows and blankets are provided, however, no linens/sheets or towels provided. Easy access to main road and close parking. Scenic View rest stop up the road has more bars of service if your provider is weak in this area.

We spent a week at the chalet in October of 2022.
It was a wonderful experience. Grand views from the deck looking over the mountains The location is excellent and central to the Adirondacks. The chalet was large, well equipped and very clean. The owner was available and supportive. We could not have asked for more....

Thanks for a great home base for checking out the area. Fit 2 families of 4 comfortably. The place is right on the main road, but that didn’t matter since the view out back and outdoor space was private and large. Indoor area was as expected- loved the historic feel — and that there was a dishwasher. Centrally located.

Lovely Property - Excellent back deck mountain view. Plenty of rooms for sleeping and restrooms. There's a campfire pit area a short path away. We experienced 2 days of a heat wave and there were plenty of fans - the front bedroom or the bottom floor were the best sleeping options on these heat wave days. Definitely would like to return.

Amazing views!
This cabin is set in a beautiful wild flower garden with wonderfully tended grounds and amazing mountain views! Our family had a great time exploring the property and the lakes around it. Absolutely gorgeous property! The cabin on the main floor was perfect, however my family could not use the first floor at all. The musty smell, although we opened all windows doors and fans were on...did not disappear. :(
My brother had a full on asthma attack trying to sleep down there. No worries, he is ok! Overall, a great time!

Beautiful chalet!
This chalet was glorious overall. The views are unmatched and the ability to go pretty much any where in the Adirondack park within 1-2 hours is perfect. The kitchen could use some upgraded equipment and the deck needs some attention but neither of those things outweigh how great it was. I addressed these issues with the owner and hopefully they will be rectified. We will be back!

Amazing getaway with friends and family
My family and friends visited the Indian Chalet and had a great time. The closeness of the property to Gore Mountain was what led us to booking the chalet and it did not disappoint. The surrounding area of the property is extremely beautiful and we were able to walk around the backyard and explore a bit. The fireplace in the middle of the living area is very nice to gather and relax together. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

We spent a long winter weekend at Lake Indian. The cottage is very cozy, functional for a group of up to 8, in a bucolic setting with wonderful views of the mountains. When we came in the evening the thermostat was on low and the house was very cold. Temperature outside was around minus 15 F. first night was spent under several duvets. Next day as the heating got underway was warm and nice. The sandstone fire place added both charm and heat! We cooked dinners and although kitchen equipment was old, everything worked fine. We even made a curling surface on the small pond by a lean-to and made an outdoor fire, gazing at stars and dreaming of staying forever. We will definitely come back!

We absolutely love The Indian Ridge Chalet. It was perfect for our family. The views are beautiful!! There was plenty of room for our big family. The location is wonderful, close to town but completely secluded. We will definitely book again. Thank you Roberta.

What a view!
This was a great location. Kinda in the middle of the Adirondacks so anywhere you wanted to go was an easy trip. The chalet was cozy and comfortable. We had everything we needed. The weather was typical fall weather with some rain, sun, and a chill in the air. This did not stop us from hanging on the deck to take in the dramatic show of the clouds scraping across the mountain tops. If you're looking for a central location, but someplace you want to hang out in between adventures, then this is the place.

Great home base to explore the region
We stayed at this home for 16 days in the early fall...it was a great place to use as a base to explore the area. We hiked, paddled, swam, took a boat tour of Long Lake, went on a seaplane ride...and even attended a Moose Calling contest :). The home's central location makes it perfect if you want to explore that region of the Adirondacks. It's a comfortable home with a lot of charm and character, and the spectacular views from the back porch are to die for! There's even a really neat fire pit and lean-to just down the hill from the house...you feel like you're out in the wilderness, even though the home is just a few steps away! Roberta (the owner) was very responsive to any needs or concerns. We would definitely return here.

Our second time staying! Does not disappoint. Great coffee views, fun fire pit and spacious! Close to hiking trails, Indian lake boat launch, movie theater, great country stores and ADK museum! Can't wait to return. Roberta was great to talk to and extended our check out time! Beautiful spot!

Simple but super
Simple, clean cabin. Perfect home base for exploring in the Adirondacks. Loved mornings and evenings on the deck with great views. Also like sitting around the fire pit in the evenings, especially with kindling and wood provided. Wi-Fi worked well. Plenty of room for our family: couple + 4 young adult / teenage kids.

Gorgeous view!
We had a very relaxing and pleasurable time during our stay in the chalet. I loved looking out the wall of windows to see the mountains all around us. It's a great location with hiking all around, as well as skiing and whitewater rafting. The only difficulties we encountered was the spotty wifi, which made virtual learning practically impossible for my college age son. He managed to work around this, because he's such a resilient young man. The caretaker was very helpful and was able to give us a lot of good information too.

We stayed here while skiing at Gore Mountain. It was a quick 25 minute drive. Property was clean and spacious.

My wife and I had a wonderful time at the chalet. Close enough to the towns offerings. Only downside was we did not have internet service at the house. Overall amazing place and recommend to anyone who wants to stay in the adk

Great place to stay
This is an excellent place to stay if you're looking to enjoy the outdoors. The location is 20 minutes from Gore Mtn. It is a charming chalet with beautiful views. It has lots of room inside with an authentic ADK feeling. We highly recommend and will be returning. Thanks.
