Le petit déjeuner était excellent , varié et de qualité en sachant que je suis sans gluten . Parfait pour commencer la journée.

The location and the house are wonderful. Very relaxing and close to many interesting points of the Dordogne. There is a great restaurant in Urval.
When you are going away on holiday for a few days and choose a remote location, you are generally trying to relax. The woman who runs the house made this very hard right from the beginning. She never made us feel welcome, and that made our stay quite awkward. It kind of felt like we were a nuisance. From telling us "this not a hotel or a hostel" in the first 5 minutes, to walking into the room without permission, and coming up to you at all times to tell you how not to do things in the house. We said it was unnecessary to clean the room on the second day but she insisted she had to get in the room and we couldn't leave anything on the floor... Sadly, there are about 4 more examples of unkind behaviours, and we only stayed for two nights! My partner and I travel a lot and consider ourselves easy-going, well-mannered, careful people. We never really have issues with hosts, so this felt very uncomfortable. She also cancelled the breakfast we were having on the second day. In summary, great house but probably not the right person to run a bed & breakfast / guest house.
