Located in Playa del Carmen, this charming condo for $188 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Our beautiful condo that is right on the beaches of Playa Del Carmen speaks for itself! Very nicely furnished and decorated with an ocean view from the balcony it just doesn't get much better. The third floor balcony that overlooks the beach and pool area is a great place to relax after a meal or just to sit and enjoy yourself. Only a few steps and you can be standing on the silky soft sand of the beach with the ocean at your feet! Being located in the heart of Playa Del Carmen has you within walking distance of many restaurants, pubs, nightlife and most popular of all, the world famous shopping of 5th Avenue. All of your basic needs can be fulfilled in close distance including groceries and any supplies that you may desire. There are many options in the area for day excursions such as deep sea fishing, tours to places like the Ruins of Tulum, catamaran tours as well as the theme parks Excaret! and Xel-ha. A short walk down the beach and you can catch a ferry out to Cozumel and check out this impressive little island, very well known for it's scuba diving! The condo itself is fully equipped including 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. It will sleep 4 as well as having a pull-out sofa to sleep 6 if desired. All of your cooking can be done in the fully appointed kitchen that sits next to a wide open dining area. All rooms are beautifully furnished in a classic style offering comfort at any time of the day. We absolutely love staying here and we know you will too!!

An excellent location if you like being close to nightlife. The condo was beautiful and spacious. We had a couple of issues arise and Graham took the time to respond over a holiday weekend and went out of his way to make it right for us. Can’t say enough good about him as a host. He set us up with a driver too which we later found to be half the cost of what our family paid a few days later.
Just a word to the wise-the facility says no saving pool side chairs but everyone there does. It’s a little annoying but in no way takes away from Gram’s condo.

El Faro is a fabulous property in an excellent location. Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful in a timely manner. The unit itself was spacious and very comfortable. We would give it our highest recommendation, and would return again.

We stayed here for 2 weeks in February. We have been to Mexico multiple times (more than 10) since 2005. This unit just didnt measure up in any way. First thing...which is not the fault of the owner..the seaweed was horrific. Even though we were on the beach, we only got in the ocean 1 time. Seaweed were in piles on the beach 4-5ft high...and it stinks. So that alone takes away any benefit to staying directly on the beach. The Unit - the owner is prompt to reply, and the property manager on site tries to be as helpful as she can. The pictures look great but the reality is this unit is just old and tired. The kitchen is very poorly appointed - actually the worst i have had in a rental. The toilet kept leaking...we had to get them in twice to fix that. The front door was jamming...they had to come in and chisel away at the lock so it wouldnt jam...The internet..no router in the unit. the owner claims he is not aware of this...i dont know..but he should be! The internet is delivered via a repeater from a 'shared' router. One can only imagine how lousy it was. We use the network to keep in touch with elderly family members when away and also immediate family members. The internet in that unit made it impossible. After a few days i had to turn on my phone and start roaming..I roamed for 9 of the 14 days - the owner did reimburse some of that charge to me...but the point is, this unit is advertised as having wifi and it should be useable. It was as bad as dial up when we 'could' connect. I made it clear to the owner that I have not had to deal with internet that lousy in Mexico since 2008. The dishwasher was leaking...but i was so sick and tired of having workers in, I let that one go and decided to let the next round of renters get that fixed. I will return to Mexico, i have heard there are more and more measures being implemented to deal with the seaweed, but this unit is a no go for us. No one in the group was pleased with it. The pictures look much nicer. This was one of the few times we left Mexico feeling we overpaid.

Property owner responded quickly to emails and questions. VRBO website links for check in and other info did not work properly but owner quickly responded and provided the information. Property was clean, well kept and in a prime location. We have no complaints and would definately stay again.

Property owner was amazing with communicating very easy to reach and respond. Sleeps 4 amazingly, the other 2 not so much hide-a-bed needs a mattress. Pool was very nice & the ocean view beautiful but bring water shoes because the beach/ocean is very rocky. We had a great first visit to Playa Del Carmen and this VRBO is right in the mix of it all. We had a wonderful time staying at this property. Perfect location. Restaurants and shopping within a few minutes walk.
Pharmacy and convenience store just outside. Had a beautiful pool and right on the beach. Beautiful views from our balcony. Maid service every other day worked out great for us. Fresh towels, bedding and thoroughly cleaned. Host was terrific and front desk staff and security staff were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend and plan to return again in the near future.

We had a wonderful stay. The unit was well kept, clean and comfortable for a 7 day stay. The air conditioner was as cold as you wanted. The kitchen had just enough for cooking in. The showers were good as well.

Two of us spent 10 days at this condo in January 2020. Condo, facilities and location was great. Nice beach and easy access to 5th Ave. Added bonus having the gym facility 15 steps from the condo. Owner was very quick to respond to any questions. We enjoyed our stay.

The property was beautiful, and security was excellent. I was hesitant to stay in a low unit, but it would have been fine. The gym was clean and well kept.
My only complaint was that our televisions would not work in our unit. The staff couldn’t get them fixed either.

Great property located close to the heart of town, yet quiet. Condominium located nicely, close to pool and ocean. Quick resolve when call made for assistance with cable (for World Cup). Condo is nicely appointed and outfitted; the A/C is perfect; appreciated every other day cleaning. The addition of the cold, filtered water was terrific! Would like a few more coffee cups available, but that is the only request I have. I would recommend this property to anyone looking for a great place to stay with 4-5 ppl. Plug: We swam with whale sharks and it was fantastic!

The resort and accommodations were very good. Property was well maintained and security was excellent - which is very important. Location was also great for walking to dinner and shopping. The only downside I would mention is the beach was not great. The seaweed was a problem and it was not being removed at the rate coming in. Made the ocean not really accessible unless you were in dirty looking water. Outside of that - great resort and stay.

Beautiful vacation!!
This beautiful property was even better in person than it looks in the posted pictures. Our family (my husband and I, along with our 6 and 3 year old kids) had the best time staying here!! The pool and grounds were beautiful, the views, breathtaking!!
Not only that but dealing with Graham from the moment we booked until we left was a real treat. Also, the man working the front desk was always helpful and happy. All staff were fantastic!! Any time we needed anything, it was addressed and taken care of right away.
Finally, the location of this property cannot be beat!! So close to 5th Ave yet quiet at night. We’re already looking forward to booking here for next year!!

My fiance and I stayed at Reef 305 in the middle of February 2018 with another couple and overall, we enjoyed our time in Playa Del Carmen. I highly recommend using the grocery delivery service.
Pros
- Responds quickly to messages
- Location of the condo can't be beat. 2 minutes and you're on 5th Ave with so many restaurants and bars
- The kitchen is very well equipped with everything that you would generally use at home. There is also a 20 L water cooler provided to you at no extra cost and the condo front desk will replace it as it empties, also at no additional cost
- There is a foam cooler ~2'x1'x1' which is plenty for several beverages and ice
- Each room has its own air conditioning unit
- Cleaning service every other day to change out sheets, provide fresh bath and beach towels, and toilet paper. They even provide you with mini shampoo, body wash, lotion, and conditioner like you would find in a hotel
Cons
- Our driver had some difficulty finding the condo, as did the other couple's driver and the address of the condo didn't really seem to help much. Luckily, I studied a map of the area and we spoke Spanish so when I felt the driver had gone away from the area, we were able to direct him back to the general area.
- The salty air has not been friendly to the hardware in the bathrooms and the caulking in showers were moldy. The space under the shower door and the angle of the shower head makes for a wet bathroom floor
- Apparently, there was a storm a few days prior to our arrival which brought in piles of seaweed and washed away some parts of the beach. To our dismay, the seaweed was just piled up by some community service people and left on the beach for the entire week we were there. Finally, a tractor on our last day came to pick up the seaweed.
- The shoreline is very rocky for about 15-20 ft from the shoreline. If you swim out near one of the buoys, there is a nice sandbar that is only about knee-deep when there aren't waves. Unfortunately, there aren't any reefs to help break up waves so the water tends to be more rough.
- The front desk stated that the pool/beach chairs cannot be reserved and should you place a towel or your personal belongings on a chair and walk away from the pool/beach area, you have 30 minutes to return otherwise the condo security will take them to the front desk. Unfortunately, so many towels were placed on these chairs early in the morning for several hours and not once did we see the security remove them.

Incredible location and spectacular view.
We absolutely loved our stay in Playa Del Carmen. We had tacos and guac every day. The location couldn’t be better for walking to all the restaurants and activities. We scuba dived just off the beach and just had the most relaxing vacation. We will be booking this condo in the future for our family! Thank you!!
