Nestled in Seguin, this attractive house for $100 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Welcome to our family-friendly one-story home on the Guadalupe River - close to New Braunfels, McQueeney, Seguin, and San Antonio. We have owned this home for a number of years and decided to make it available for others to enjoy. Great for 'Winter Texans,' traveling health care professionals, and families moving to the area who are looking for a placid experience. You will stay in a spacious (1587sf), fully-furnished home with wonderful outdoor views from the living room, dining room, and kitchen. Open floor plan with roomy kitchen and dining area. 3 bedrooms (2 with king beds, 1 with queen bed) and 2 bathrooms (shower and bath/shower). Ceiling fans in all bedrooms and living room. Backyard filled with large pecan trees to relax and shade you. Lower and upper decks overlooking Guadalupe River Covered flagstone patio with table and chairs, and gas grill. High-speed WiFi (250 MPS+) with Smart TV and Roku. All utilities and lawn care paid. No smoking in home. Pets permitted. Parking permitted in paved private driveway. Easy to reach from I-10 and Highway 46, yet near city conveniences while being in a quiet neighborhood. Convenient to both San Antonio and Austin Bergstrom International Airports. Close to the largest water park in the USA, Schlitterbahn, and the oldest operating dance hall in Texas, Gruene Hall. You can tube the Guadalupe River , Comal River or San Marcos River nearby If shopping interests you, then you will want to visit one of the largest outlet malls in the U.S. in nearby San Marcos. Take in The Pearl and the historic sites of the Alamo in San Antonio, or enjoy Six Flags Fiesta Texas and Sea World. Drive towards Austin and experience Circuit of the Americas track events and outdoor concerts or head into the city and enjoy the "Live Music Capital of the World". COZY, COMFY with Nice Views
This is the third time we’ve stayed here! It’s perfect for our family! Lots of bird watching and fun card games at the big table! Sandra is great to work with. We will be back! We use the home as a base to visit other family in the area, and it meets our needs well!

Great Base Point for Family Visit
We’ve stayed here before and likely will again. We have family and a farm nearby. This property allows our immediate family to gather together while visiting extended family in the area. We were sad to see water levels so low, but we weren’t here for the water sports. Sandra is such a conscientiously reliable hostess.

Excellent Location - Lovely Property
My family of four had a marvelous last-minute getaway at this perfect little place on the river. We spent our days and nights either in the river or sitting on the dock watching the world go by. The house itself is wonderfully furnished, especially the kitchen, which made it easy to throw a few clothing items in a bag and pack a cooler with some food and head for the lake. Great Time and Location!
My friends and I came to Seguin for our annual golf trip. We knew it was going to be hot, so we wanted to stay close to the water. This property didn't disappoint whether it be location, size of the house, cleanliness, etc. I would definitely recommend this property to a friend.

Locate is awesome, right on the small lake. Had a great time with family. The only negative thing was not being able to tie off a boat to the dock. We had to stay on the boat because we had no where to tie it off too. But it was a good time.

Great location
Great house with wonderful views and great location. The kids enjoyed swimming and the grandparents enjoyed the shaded and relaxing patio. The house has everything you could need and is spotless. Sandra was also very attentive.

The property itself is beautifully maintained inside and out. The dock for accessing the water is only 100 ft from the back porch, so super close. There were kyaks and floatation devices (pool noodles) available for use, and we had an awesome time playing in the water. Some things to keep in mind:
* The water is deep everywhere, so little ones will not be able to stand.
* The only way out of the water is with a pool/dockside ladder. So if you have people with bad/weak hips/ankles (like my mother that came with us), then you may have trouble getting back out of the water.
Overall, lots of fun and I recommend this place to everyone :)

Wonderful getaway
We had a great time at this house. The house was very comfortable with ample space, a well-equipped kitchen, and amazing dock and lake access. We enjoyed using the kayaks as well as just relaxing on the upper deck! We would definitely return.

Very Lovely and Peaceful
It was a great house to stay in, loved the views, spacious, clean, lots of game options, and more. The first night my whole family did take cold showers because the water heater was cut off some how, but my husband went and turned on, it was a hot day in the sun so it was fine.

Nice location, middle bathroom shower only gets hot water if turned completely all the way over. Also construction, with large equipment, metal sawing happening right next door from 8AM to 4ish. The workers were very nice, but it was very noisy at times. Other then that all was good.

Beautiful home in a beautiful property
This home is large and comfortable. We spent most of the time on the dock or kayaking. We can’t wait to come back. Also we got takeout from Blake’s in McQueeny and had the best onion rings we’ve ever eaten.

Great location for a family get away. Nice clean house in quiet area with great location for lake access and getting to San Antonio, New Braunfels areas. Great kayaking on the lake when boats are quite during the week.

Fantastic weekend getaway, will definitely be back
We absolutely loved this place and brought both our dogs. It’s so beautiful right on the water and we just swam right off the dock and took the kayaks out every day. It’s very quiet indoors even with boats going by. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds are comfortable.
I also love the good water pressure in the showers. Great host, wonderful stay, thanks so much!

Spacious home right on the water
This was our first visit to Lake Placid. It’s a very small, crowded lake; glad we didn’t bring our boat, just jet skis. Heads up, fellow boaters do not like jet skis. Also, because the lake is sooo narrow, it’s almost impossible to remain 50 feet away for all water vehicles, as required by law. The water is very choppy so paddle boarding was very challenging. This property was perfect for our family weekend with the large living and dining rooms. There was plenty of outdoor seating, however, there are no outdoor lounger chairs as in the property pictures. The owner, Sandra, was quick to respond. Her neighbors on one side are rebuilding their dock so on the weekday, sitting out on the dock, all we heard was the generator plant and metal grinder. Same neighbor leaves their exterior lights on all night, which shine right into the master. It was deceiving to know if it was morning yet. The dock is large but since 2/3’s of it is not available to renters, you would need to trailer your boat at night and the neighborhood ramp is off limits. Instead you need to go to the public ramp a couple miles away. The long driveway is amazing. We were able to fit 4 trucks and 2 trailers. Sadly, the garage space is off limits so we had to store motorcycles overnight on the back patio. There are several (we spotted at least 5) outdoor cameras watching the property, a little creepy but I guess understandable. The home was nicely equipped, the mattresses were actually comfortable (not saggy in the middle) and the thermostat kept a perfect temp. For some reason there is a large tropical plant/tree impeding the lake view when at the kitchen sink and it’s very prickly when having to walk past it every time taking out the trash or recycling.
All in all, a fantastic place. Would love to return some day.

Great time!
The house was perfect! It was ready to walk in and start a vacation. No need to run to the store for supplies but there is a nice little grocery store nearby if needed for food items etc. The house is on the water; we spent a lot of time out on the dock with the kids swimming and adults lounging and floating in tubes etc. We even fished off the dock. Highly recommend this for a family to spend some time on the lake. Really wish our schedules would've allowed for more days. We will definitely be coming back!

Great waterfront home and perfect for families. Comfy beds. Big open kitchen and living room. Kayaks were fun! Large back yard with beautiful trees and lots of shade!
No use of boat or watercraft lift on dock. But, boat ramp was not too far away. If there are lots of boats on lake, big waves around dock.
We rented property Sunday - Wednesday. Calmer water during the week.
Overall, this is a great rental!!!

Hot and Disappointed
We enjoyed the stay but there were problems. The primary issue was that the air conditioner did not cool satisfactorily. We contacted the owner the first day because the house was 79 degrees and the temperature was set at 74 degrees. They told us it was due to the high temperatures outside. The house temperature got up as high as 81 degrees in the afternoons. While it is true that the outdoor temperature was high, the air conditioner was not cooling the interior to a reasonable temperature where we were comfortable and not sweating. The outdoor unit is 18 years old. We stayed for 3 days and the air conditioner did not catch up or stay cool. Thank goodness for the ceiling fans or we would not have been able to sleep at night.
Live roaches were crawling across the kitchen and living room floors.
The house did not appear to be sanitized. Finger marks were on the door facings in the master bath. The house did not smell clean. The carpets were stained and dirty.
Food crumbs were in the drawers in the kitchen particularly in the potholder and kitchen towel drawer. The pot holders had food on them. Many of the towels were dirty.
The hair dryer in the master bedroom did not work.
The dishwasher would turn on but appeared that the door would not latch so it would turn itself off and not complete the cycle. We tried about 4 times. We had to hand wash all dishes.
For the amount of money we paid for the stay, none of this should have been in disrepair. Will not come back.
The view and the waterfront are beautiful.
