Lemon Lodge is an amazing property to stay on. Right by the water and the river, lots of seating available, a nice beach for kids to play on. The house itself needs a lot of work. I understand the cabin is well over 100 years old, but the dishwasher doesn't work properly. We couldn't get hot water in the upstairs shower, the kitchen faucet is in rough shape and needs to be replaced among other things. Overall my stay was ok, but I don't believe I'd stay in this cabin again.

Location, Location, Location

Property is very old, which is part of the reason we stayed. If those walls could talk... Floors creak, doors and walls and doors lean. All this is part of the charm of an old cabin. Location is amazing. Walk to town, nearby inlet, private docks, fire pit. Very quiet and peaceful setting. We were notified before checking in that a bathroom door knob was broken, and upon check-in, I communicated with the owner, and provided pictures and measurements to him. He mentioned he would try an fix the door knob, but he never showed up during out ten day stay. There are also reports that the clothes dryer didn't work, but it worked for us. Just make sure the filter is clean. If you want to use the Weber Grill, bring briquettes. And if hosting a large group, bring some washable plastic cups, and steak knives. There were limited numbers of glassware and only four steak knives in the kitchen when we arrived. There are also only eight bath towels and four wash clothes available. Overall, a great stay, and we would consider staying here again. Enjoy.

This is billed as the oldest rental cabin in Colorado, which has its pros and cons. It was the only place that could accommodate all of us (15 people) for anything close to the price, especially to be just seconds from the shore of Grand Lake. The Lemmon Lodge staff, particularly Brian, were very helpful with arrangements for a dock for our two boats. The place is in good shape for a cabin of its age, but it comes with creaky floors, and electricity and plumbing that were probably added decades after its original construction. Unfortunately, the on-demand water heater was over-sized for the electrical capacity of the house, so it runs at half-capacity, and any other substantial load, especially the range/oven, runs the risk of killing the power to the water heater and/or the entire house. We made a habit of only showering when nobody was cooking, and only one bathroom at a time, and it worked out okay. Hopefully the electrical capacity can be upgraded to correct this. That said, we'd stay there again, as Lemmon Lodge has special memories from our childhood, and we'd have to pay twice as much to stay anywhere else with as many bedrooms.

It was a little challenging, we had 14 and could not use one of the rooms counted because it was actually the enclosed porch with no heat. A few plumbing issues that the owner took care of very quickly. We loved having the fireworks right out our back door for New Year's.
