Nestled in Onekama, this charming house for $250 per night is a great option for your next break. 2 story home across from beautiful Portage Lake. 50 ft wide lake lot with dock and swimming raft. Within walking distance of the Village of Onekama, Public park and a short distance to the Public area of Lake Michigan beach. Large Yard, patio behind house , deck at beach. 5 bedrooms, 2 baths, sleeps up to 10. Large living room, dining room, enclosed porch, full kitchen, clothes washer and dryer. Internet and WIFI. No AC or central heat. Pets allowed with a fee.

The cottage was beyond our expectations. The property was clean and filled with beautiful antique furniture. The kitchen light was fixed immediately by a very capable and nice man. The kitchen was stocked with everything you could want while at a vacation property. We especially enjoyed having access to the dock and swimming raft. We hope to return next summer!

A great house for as weekend away. Give of us had more space than we knew what to do with. The house is right across the street from the water and was well appointed. Lived it!

Disappointment on Sunshine Corner
The back screen door had a hole in the screen that allowed squirrels to come into the kitchen and eat our food. There were mice all over the place and squirrels in the ceiling. The dock was too unstable to use. The dishwasher is "out of order" still, TV was inop, the washer & dryer were in the basement not fit for man or beast. The furnace didn't work and the mornings were cold. The drains all ran very slow. Much of the yard was not cut making parking difficult.

Onekama family vacation
The location and roominess of the cottage really worked out well for our family. It’s an older home so you have to set your expectations accordingly. Very convenient for a nice stroll through town or directly out front to enjoy the lake.

Loved location and rustic home but the doc hasn't been installed the property hadn't been mowed or weed eat and there were acorns half eaten in the couch and critter excrinent which I told the property about si hopefully they address it

This is our 3rd or 4th time staying at Sunshine Corner. We love the cozy lake feel of the house and the history of the property.
My biggest recommendation would be to replace the bed frame in the downstairs bedroom. Every reservation we have made here with West Shore Vacation Properties has gone smoothly, Thank You!

The M22 traffic was loud. The pics don’t show that you have to cross the highway to get to the lake .

Perfect for a long weekend of fishing
Large house with with good accommodations. The inland lake is large and offers quick access to Lake Michigan

Annual fishing trip
The cottage worked out well for us and we had plenty of room. Great location and the water access was nice. There was clean bedding and towels provided as described and basically everything we we needed to enjoy an annual fishing trip with friends.

Except for being on a busy road great location. Beds were accurate at "full" size but small for two adults. Lots of books, games... to keep the kids busy. A more up to date TV with a HDMI port would have been a plus.

Sunshine Corner
Overall, we enjoyed our stay. The mattress inmaster bedroom was very old and sagged - suggest that it is replaced. Also back screen door had several rips and tears and should also be replaced.

We had a really great week...House is very clean and very relaxing! The dock & ladder are a little iffy with a child but no complaints!! Perfect location as well!

Beautiful view!
This house has amazing views of portage lake. It’s very spacious so if you get a rain day (like we did!) you have several options to sit and play games or do your puzzle (luckily, they had a bunch of games/puzzles to keep us occupied) without being on top of each other. We had a fantastic stay overall.

Onekama week
This property is an older home with lots of history. Plenty of room & comfortable surroundings. We especially enjoyed the large front window that looked out towards Portage Lake! There is an area by the water with a small dock & swim platform, but no ladder to get in & out of the water... Hopefully one could be installed on the dock or lake wall in the future for swimming access! Plenty of beach chairs & a shade canopy were nice. Overall enjoyed our stay!!
