My fiancee and I stayed in this lovely cottage for our wedding just down the road at Shining Tides. We especially loved the privacy of the cottage and beautiful view of Buzzards Bay. Absolutely perfect
Everything about this cottage was absolutely perfect! This was one of the best rental experiences I've ever had. The views and the beach were amazing! Wonderfully private and so quiet and peaceful. I have never stayed in a better-appointed rental property, either. Ana has great taste. She was perfectly helpful and communicative too. The place was impeccably clean, as well, obviously deep-cleaned and sanitized by a professional. My wife and I had an amazing time, and we would 100% stay here again.

Relaxing Long Weekend!
The hermit crab is truly a hidden gem! The location and views are one of a kind. It was so relaxing and peaceful to go to sleep listening to the ocean and wake up and have coffee on the deck overlooking the water. Ana, the host, is very accommodating and went out of her way to make our trip special. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Ana!!

Hermit Crab Cottage Beach Stay
I highly recommend renting this property. The location is stunning and the hostess Ana keeps the place spotlessly clean. She thoughtfully furnishes the place with tons of amenities both small (snack baskets and bottled water) and big (outdoor shower, air purifier, Nespresso machine, beach chairs). The check in experience was smooth, the entire stay felt unhurried and perfectly low-key, and it was worth every penny! Huge bonus that it’s dog friendly!

Fantastic Vacation
Pulling into the road pulling up to the property screams vacation retreat! The location and views are awesome. The beach is rocky but as long as you have water shoes it is fine. Despite that, the beach really does make you feel like you are on your own little island. The property itself has everything one would need and has a rustic cabin feel. Eating outside, relaxing on the porch or beach really was a perfect quarantine retreat. The owners themselves were extremely nice with great communication, thoughtfulness, and flexibility. We really enjoyed our stay!

Dreamy little cottage on the beach!
My husband, five year old and I spent four days here to celebrate my birthday and it was the perfect beach hideaway, off the beaten path but convenient access to everything. While this cottage is small, it's beauty, charm and comfort are in the details. Ana has thought of everything. Location could not be better, right on your own private beach, with a spectacular view! Just make sure the little ones have water shoes as it is rocky. The layout of this little space could not be better with two separated bedrooms (not big, but big enough with comfy beds and bedding), bath with shower, open kitchen and living room with plenty of comfy seating for three. The outdoor dining space was wonderful for all three meals. It is completely covered and we ate there in the rain and sun. We really did not need to bring much (just food) - everything we needed (beach chairs, umbrellas, towels, hair drier, etc.) was there. It made for one of the most relaxing vacations we have ever had. And the decor is just perfect to make you feel at the beach at every turn! Recommend Nick's for takeout, walking to the lighthouse, and s'mores by the fire pit. Thank you for a fabulous birthday getaway! We will be back!

Incredible view
The Hermitcrab is a beautiful little hidden gem tucked into Buzzards Bay. The private beach and view is amazing. Ana is a wonderful host and provided every possible perk imaginable. We loved watching the birds in the estuary; so many kinds! The walk to the lighthouse and into the sweet little town is super sweet. We rode bikes each day and discovered little neighborhoods that we loved. Sleeping each night was peaceful due to the waves keeping us company. This sweet little hub is a guaranteed chill zone. Cozy and wonderful!

Amazing babymoon
Me, my husband, pup and baby bump had the pleasure of renting this listing as a last minute babymoon. Not only was the cottage more adorable in person, but Ana went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and at home. Every detail of our trip was perfect- the extra snacks for us and the pup were above and beyond. Ana was always accessible and easy to contact. Cannot express more about this positive experience! Hope to come back with the baby soon!

End of Summer Stay
Our stay at the Hermit Crab cottage was the perfect ending for our summer! We loved the views, private beach, sunrises and sunsets. Ana made everything simple and welcoming and we we felt right at home. A wonderful vacation for our family.

We were very pleased with cottage. We have stayed in a few cabins and cottages and this one, by far, had the most and nicest amenities. Ana put a lot of thought into furnishings. Whatever we needed was there. The area was beautiful and peaceful. Nothing better than having your own beach a few steps away. Outdoor shower is pretty sweet too. Thanks for 4 really relaxing , worry free nights Ana!

Hermit Crab Cottage is simply wonderful! It was a perfect getaway for our family of four. With the private beach, spectacular views and adorable furnishings, the house was everything we wanted and needed for a great vacation. Ana was a terrific host and we will definitely be back. A Summer Dream
Hermit Crab Cottage is the most charming and best appointed cottage I have ever stayed in - five star hotels included! All this is simply a reflection of the charm, care and loving attention to detail of Ana, the owner. Everything you could imagine needing or wanting, Ana has thought of and it is right there! And more! She is also very responsive to questions about things to do, places to go, etc.
Also, the cottage is magic for sleeping! We could not get over how well we slept there! Sophoric.
The location of the cottage couldn't be more ideal - on the beach with beautiful ocean views and breezes, and also a view of the marsh to the back with bunnies and wild birds. A veritable haven! And all this just a few minutes from charming towns, restaurants, ferry to Martha's Vineyard etc .
We did not have enough time to take full advantage of Hermit Crab Cottage - the beach, the adirondak chairs Ana placed on the beach and fire pit, the bbq... We look forward to coming back!

We had an amazing vacation at the hermit crab cottage. The house was great and the views and private beach was spectacular! Ana and Gus were fabulous hosts who made us and our two dogs feel welcome. I highly recommend this cottage for a peaceful and relaxing beach getaway. You cannot beat this place, it is amazing!!!

Amazing Getaway
We were on the fence about the Hermit Crab because it was a little out of our price range. However, we are soooooo happy we splurged. It is rare that a place exceeds expectations imparted by its description and photos, but this was one of those places. Everything was so clean and the view was incredible. The location was serene, quiet, and peaceful (i.e. morning tea/coffee watching the waves, osprey and egrets) and perfect for anyone looking to spend a lot of time outside without having to go far. We launched our canoe right from the private beach, walked to the lighthouse and town (35 min walk for the latter), grilled amazing fresh fish from Turks, and got in some great relaxing time. There are also 5+ miles of hiking trails just a half-mile away! Ana and Gus are wonderful and were amazing hosts who were super accommodating and responsive and seemed to genuinely want to be sure we enjoyed our stay. The personalized touches were great...right down to the basket of goodies and a bed for our dog, Willow. The Hermit Crab is a truly great place...we were sad to leave, but hope to be back before long and hopefully the general store will have their weekend donuts!
