About this cottage rental
Nestled in Addison County, this lovely cottage for $350 per night is a great option for your next trip. Located right on Lake Champlain in Addison Vermont, we are pleased to offer this wonderful vacation property for the first time. This property was purchased in 2015 with the intent of offering a unique waterfront property with ample capacity for large family occasions. The year round home is owned by a Connecticut builder, he and his family have created an upscale vacation home, specifically designed to take advantage of the breathtaking views of the lake as well as the landscaped grounds that surround the home. This house is nearly 3000 square feet. While the original log home has been completely renovated with a gorgeous post and beam addition added to provide a state of the art kitchen, living room , a large master suite, a large suite facing the grounds, as well as a bathroom that is shared by both suites. As you enter the lake house, you cant help but notice that the flooring is spectacular with Vermont maple flooring throughout. The custom cherry kitchen provides for the needs of nearly all levels of cooking skills, with stainless steel appliances, double oven, as well as a gas cooktop located on an island with Cherry cabinets and a gas cooktop. The design of the kitchen allows for wonderful flow and utility, making a fantastic spot to hang out before, during and after family meals. Each bedroom has a wonderful view to sit and enjoy the Vermont wildlife that abounds. There is also a large family room on the cabin side that provides a nice comfortable atmosphere, separate from the living room and kitchen. Plenty of Places to Relax! The house sits right on the lake. From the lake house, you can sit anywhere on the 70 feet of porch/deck and enjoy the lake. For those that choose to be more adventurous, On the beach we have 100 feet of dock, located in a protected bay. Safe for swimming, fishing, boating, or just enjoying the sunsets. Great for families! We offer free use of our row boat and kayaks. While staying here, you will certainly enjoy the privacy you are seeking. However, the location is perfect for getting out and doing things. The Marina is close by for those of you who may want to keep your boat there. One of the areas busiest restaurants is only 1/4 mile away. They make a great breakfast! Additionally, for our guests, we have a list of restaurants we have found worth adventuring out. Burlington is only 32 miles north, Middlebury is 18 miles to the west, Port Henry New York is right across the lake, an easy drive using the bridge. I've been told that Lake Champlain is one of the top 5 bass fishing lakes in the United States. In early summer, they hold a national tournament, which is fun to be a part of. Less than a half a mile away this spring, a record breaking lake trout was caught within site of our dock. Maybe you could be the next record breaker! Comments that I have received back from travelers that have stayed at this lake house have described it as "stunning", "majestic", and "relaxing". We allow pets on a case by case basis and charge an additional cleaning fee at the end. Additionally, we do require pet insurance which is built into our fee structure

Perfect for two families as the two areas with bedrooms are both separate. Big yard. Giant wraparound deck. Beautiful view of the lake. Large family area. It's a very nice place. We did not use the water because we were there in early October. It's a bit strange to me that they lock up the washer and dryer. Also, only two bathrooms. Highly recommended.

Absolutely fantastic house for Middlebury graduation weekend. Plenty of room for extended family - however the loft room in the older part of the house becomes uncomfortable hot unless you open the windows at night and then the smell of manure can become intense (it is VT!). Otherwise incredible views of the lake with plenty of outdoor chairs, games, activities. House is very well stocked with extras of everything. The yard is well maintained with beautiful landscaping. I miss my morning coffee on the back porch watching the birds over the lake!

This is an outstanding rental on the lake - nicely outfitted, great rooms (and lots of them) - top notch but also very comfortable. The deck overlooking the lake is terrific. The owner does a great job - well organized and helpful. We had a wonderful fall weekend in VT.

This property is beautiful both inside and out. Open floor plan, room to spread out. Wonderful porch with glorious views of the lake and the Adirondacks. Beautiful sunsets. The country side is so pretty. Easy drive to Vergennes and Burlington or cross the bridge to New York.

The property was perfect for my family. The inside was clean, comfortable and the kitchen was so well stocked. The best place was outside. We spent time swimming, kayaking, playing in the yard and eating outside every night for dinner. Then sitting on the beautiful huge porch and watching the sunset. BEAUTIFUL

This home is in a wonderful location on Lake Champlain with a great view of the Crown Point Bridge. There are kayaks, a paddle board and a float pad to enjoy the water with. We had wished for better weather but had two nice days to enjoy the nice long dock and Lake Champlain. It’s only a short walk to the bridge and the fort just over the bridge in NY. There’s a nice big outdoor table to enjoy meals together and a large umbrella if needed for shade.
We had a mixup with check in but the owner was responsive and made it right in the end. Many of the remotes needed batteries which is annoying but certainly not a deal breaker. We noted that a written sheet with instructions would be helpful with WiFi password, garbage disposal, checkout instructions etc. There was a letter sent out via email but it would have been nice to have a hard copy for quick reference.
All in all we had a great stay with our family in this beautiful area.

The property is as advertised in the pictures -- very comfortable bedrooms and a large living room. The kitchen has everything you would need for cooking for a large family. We ate dinner at the outside patio every night and the grill was more than big enough for us to cook for the family. We used the kayaks and SUP every day and our seven year old became really comfortable in the water! We fished off of the dock and caught and released quite a few small fish. It was a quiet location and we definitely enjoyed a peaceful and relaxing week. Beds were very comfortable, AC made for manageable afternoons when the sun came into the house, and the lake was easy to get in and out of due to the dock being extended. Overall a great getaway and would definitely rent here again.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful home on Lake Champlain. It was a perfect place to stay for our daughter's Middlebury College graduation weekend (there was plenty of room for 8 of us to stay comfortably). The house is well equipped for entertaining. The view and setting is breathtaking. Everyone had a wonderful time. We felt lucky to find this gem of a home and it made the graduation weekend even more memorable. And, to top it off, the owner is easy to communicate with. Thanks Joe!

Our stay was perfect., 3 adults, and 3 teens on a college visit. We picked Addison because it was on the lake and in a very quiet area. We drove to Burlington to see University of Vermont and the other days relaxed, fished or drove into Middlebury. We even managed to go skiing at Stowe.
The house is beautiful and equipped with everything and large enough for everyone to have their own space. The general store had the basics and we were all set.
I would definitely love to stay here again.

A wonderful winter trip! My husband and I and our friends wanted a winter experience, and the lake views, fireplace, and cozy home environment made this the perfect place to be. The way the home is laid out made it incredibly easy for multiple people to work remotely, and both the cell phone service and internet service were great with zero issues. Joe was quick to respond to any needs or questions we had, and was very kind and generous to reimburse us some money when we had to cut our trip a little short due to a bad winter storm. He absolutely did not have to do that (as I've experienced in the past with others), and I greatly appreciated his flexibility. We hope to be able to stay again in the summer for a completely different lake house experience!

Magnificent house with everything you need. Property is just over the border from NY right on Lake Champlain with spectacular views. House can easily be divided into 2 separate spaces for multiple families just by closing a set of French doors. You won’t find a better house than this one in the area.
