Located in Northwood, this lovely cottage for $235 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Note: We do not post listing on Craigslist. Beware of scammers Our Kooaukee Island water-view home located on Bow Lake (accessible by car) was renovated spring 2014. The house has an open concept kitchen, living and dining area which offers a view of the lake. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 baths and a game room. Other amenities include washer and dryer, picnic table, gas grill, outdoor fire-pit. We also have 4 kayaks available for your use. During the cold winter months you can enjoy snowshoeing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, ice fishing and of course ice skating. **Please note: Our target group are families/couples who are looking to enjoy themselves. We do not want loud partying groups as we respect our neighbors. If you are a loud partying group please do not inquire. My husband and I were searching for a comfortable and quiet place to stay for a brief getaway and this house was just what we needed! Also we enjoyed the location, and many walks in the area with water views. Our host, Cindy, was very responsive to our needs, and overall this was a very positive experience!

Beautiful neighborhood and very clean, spacious house. Enjoyed the fire pit and chairs, even caught some nice small mouth bass. This house has something for everyone, the lake, a game room and privacy.

Plenty of lawn games, kayaks, life vests, paddles, seats for patio and fire pit. The fire pit was even all set up and just ready to be lit. Which was great as it rained and it was covered. Listening to the Loons be Loony at night and in the morning is quite the experience. They are a interesting bird and Bow Lake is loaded with them. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Would visit again.

This property is simply beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice.
Things we loved:
The awesome patio with screen sliding doors and a pellet stove if you get cold. Perfect for the fall/winter.
Beds were super comfortable.
There was no clutter- it was extremely clean and well maintained.
The private beach, kayaks and the awesome view.
The quiet neighborhood.
The fire pit, BBQ, plenty of chairs, and air hockey.
We will definitely be going back!!

Wonderful, relaxing lake vacation
House was perfect for a simple, relaxed lake vacation. Very nice neighborhood, a short walk to the beach, great access to kayaks and sports equipment, and a comfortable, clean house made this a nice trip for the family.

Roomy house on Bow Lake
We chose the Bow Lake Family Getaway to be close to my parent”s and sister”s homes in Northwood for my nephew’s wedding. The owners, Rob and Cindy are easy to deal with. The home was clean and very comfortable for the 7 of us. Our choice was based on reviews and location, and it is exactly as advertised. We especially enjoyed the game room and had tournaments on the shuffleboard table. I took an early morning walk and got some great photos of the fog rising from the lake. Best of all, I was commended for making a great choice.
If you are looking for a place in that area, you can’t miss on this home.

Spent a long weekend due to a family funeral in Epsom. Bow Lake is a lovely spot and the property provided much room for the 4 of us and ample space for extended family members to stop by and catch up.

Fabulous home away from home!
My family just came back and we cannot tell you how wonderful this place was. All the comforts of home. Kayaking and swimming were fabulous and the location can't be beat. Cindy provides everything you need and then some! We cannot wait to come back!

Wonderful home on a fabulous lake.
The home was perfect for our 3 generation vacation. House is wonderfully updated and outfitted. Although we packed two SUV's to the brim, we didn't need to bring anything but food and drink. The lake is clean and the beach is sandy. We were in the water everyday, and took numerous kayaking adventures.

Comfortable, attractive, clean, well-organized house convenient to lake access
Our family have stayed at this house twice and will be going back next year. The owners are very easy to deal with, and the house is well-stocked, well-organized, and very clean. It is a few yards from a small park with sandy beaches for easy lake access as well as picnic tables and a few benches. Berrybogg farm is a few minutes away on Province Road - we like to go there to pick blueberries.
If you want some quiet time away on a beautiful lake, this is the perfect place.

Excellent!
We needed a place to accommodate relatives for a family funeral, and this house met our needs very well. It was close to where we needed to be, was in excellent condition, offered a good mix of beds/bedrooms, and had plenty of seating for our crowd. We enjoyed spending time with our loved ones taking walks and playing games on the porch, especially the shuffleboard! The owners were great.

A real gem!
This was our fourth visit to Bow Lake Family Getaway...the owners are great to communicate with, very responsive with any questions or concerns that come up. The lake is beautiful, and it is a very quiet spot. Lots to do right at the house with shuffleboard, air hockey, and outside games and fire pit. Also very close to ocean, mountains, and all kinds of hiking trails. Neighbors are very friendly as well. We love it!

We totally enjoyed our stay at Bow Lake--the house was even more beautiful than advertised! This home was equipped with absolutely everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. It was immaculately clean and well kept.
We had a small heating issue that the owners took care of immediately with very little inconvenience to us - They were very responsive and dedicated to making our stay the best possible experience! I would recommend this property to anyone looking to stay in this area!!

Just a few Pros and Cons to Consider
Pros: Because we have family that own property on Bow Lake we wanted to find something on or near the lake that would work well for 8 people, my wife, our daughter, her husband and four kids, ages from not-quite-two to 10. This four-bedroom, two-bath house on Koowaukee Island fit the bill. Well-equipped kitchen, laundry, lots of outdoor play things, a play room and plenty of board games as well as three kayaks to choose from kept everyone busy. The private, small, Island beach that is intended for homeowners is just the right size for younger children and a great place to enjoy your morning coffee. The owner was very responsive through the rental process and returned a portion of our damage deposit promptly. The price is right.
Cons: The house is an older house that has been renovated to some degree but you will find that several of the interior doors don’t close either because of being poorly installed or uneven floors. The casement, crank-out windows are also aged and don’t work smoothly. The bi-fold doors to the laundry appliances were typical, inexpensive doors that didn’t operate well in their tracks. The louvered slats were loose at the bottom when we arrived and as the week went on, several came loose and fell out. The screen door to the patio is not child-proof. It has nothing to protect it from either a child or adult walking into it. The screen was sprung slightly when we arrived but it only took our 20-month grandson one attempt to walk through it that pulled the cording from its groove. The house does have a portable A/C (I think it was an LG model) suitable for cooling up to 500 sq feet, certainly not sufficient for this four-bedroom, split-level design. We decided not to use it at all and were stunned when the owner informed us after our departure that their repairman had to spend time trying to fix it, for which a portion of our deposit monies were held. That was also the case for the screen door and bi-fold door slats. The reason for sharing all of this is to simply suggest that if you decide to rent this property, be sure to take plenty of pictures when you arrive.

A lovely stay!
This was our third year and we loved it even more this year. Everything is so updated, clean and open. The design of the home works perfectly for our family with young children. The new pub table worked out really well for us as extra seating outside around the picnic table. We enjoyed fires every night in the fire pit out front. We were able to kayak and paddleboard every day on the beautiful Bow lake. The little ones enjoyed the playground every day as well. Cindy responds so quickly to any situations that arise. Ex: the fire pit blew out on the bottom and a new one was delivered the next day! Thanks for a lovely stay!

Wonderful property! Excellent location!
This was our third stay at this property and we can definitely confirm that Bow Lake is just as beautiful in the spring as it is in the fall. The neighbors are friendly and welcoming, the beachfront is peaceful and fun, and our son even caught a few fish. We heard the loons the first night we were there, took lots of walks, and took the kayaks out. Of course, we had some shuffleboard competitions, played ladder golf, and sat around the fire pit one evening. Love this property! We are booked again this fall for a few days...our only regret each time is that we have to leave! And Cindy is excellent to work with.

Awesome House for a Family Get Together/Graduation Celebration
We traveled to New Hampshire from Florida for my sons graduation at UNH this past week. (we use to live in Franklin, MA) We rented Cindy's home as we thought it would be nicer to stay a week in a home vs. a hotel. This house is the best. I've rented a few homes through Home Away and this house did not disappoint at all. My sister and her husband from Richmond were able to come up and stay and we were able to have friends in and out throughout our stay. We had a nice family get together to celebrate my sons graduation and it was a great outdoor spot and there was plenty to keep the kids entertained. This house has everything and was spotless. It has a great layout - very open in the kitchen and living room, plus a bonus game room. Bedrooms are all a nice size and comfortable. The yard and patio are large and great place to hang out. The beach area is a very short walk and beautiful. We didn't have time to use the kayaks, but may have to come back just to do that.

Wonderful place to stay!
My family enjoyed our stay at Bow Lake this fall and will definitely keep this property in mind for the future. Pretty much everything you'll need is in the home, all you need is some groceries! We were pleasantly surprised to find lots of extras as well that were either left by the owners or previous guests. The lake is a very short walk away and our young kids loved having the playground to use. We enjoyed taking walks around the island loop mornings and evenings. Make sure you head to Calef's Country Store for some yummy treats and gifts while visiting, we loved their cheese selection!

AWESOME WEEK
We are 3 seniors from Tn and Ky who choose and research for weeks which direction to head and were to stay when we get there. And we did great on both accounts. New Hampshire is beautiful and Cindy's home was a perfect end to each day of sightseeing. Centrally located for our trips to Mt. Washington, up the Maine coast to Freeport, down the NH coast from Portsmouth, and on the Amtrak to Boston. Or just sitting around the firepit enjoying the fresh air and lake view all week. It's open, clean and just like new inside, all conveniences and necessities where there, all we needed was food. I highly recommend Cindy's lake home for a wonderful vacation. If I'd been a bit younger, I would've been in one of those kayaks touring the lake. Thank you Cindy.

Fantastic vacation
We recently rented this property on Bow Lake and could not have possibly had a better vacation. The house was extremely comfortable and we felt at home the second we arrived. The kitchen had everything needed to make a family meal and the beds were all very comfortable. We wanted a relaxing vacation on a quiet clean lake and that is what we got. Our grandkids enjoyed all the games and the fire pit and kayaking around the island was very enjoyable. I appreciated not having to bring linens and towels as they were provided. We were skeptical about the shared beach but by the end of the week we were friends with everybody and sitting and talking with them was the hi-light of our day. Being able to bring our dog Lucy was awesome! She had a blast and it was nice not having to leave her behind. The owners go above and beyond to make you feel comfortable. We left a few things behind and they were kind enough to deliver them right to out door. There is a lot to do in the area and the location is convenient to the beaches and the lakes region. We can't wait to go back!
