Communication was excellent, check in really easy, we were met by Valentina on arrival, who is very lovely and organised. We were pleased to find that she also sorted the tourist tax which we were expecting to do ourselves.
The apartment was bright and airy and spotlessly clean. Kitchen area with fridge,kettle, hob and everything you need to be able to make basic meals if needed.
The bed was so comfy with clean fresh smelling linen.
The view… well it was beautiful, blue sea, mountains, just stunning. We could have sat on the balcony and stared at it all day. Waking up and having coffee on the balcony was perfect.
The beach is literally in the doorstep. Straight out of the apartment is the promenade can walk along to the old town or to Igalo. There are multiple bars, shops and restaurants and beach areas with sun beds parasols etc. Boat hire and trips easy to book.
All the staff are friendly.
We had a perfect week here and have come home totally relaxed and a little bit in love with Montenegro. We visited Kotor on the bus which is super easy, went to Rose on the boat taxi which is a little piece of paradise. Can’t recommend Apartment Joy enough.

The host was very friendly and her support made it quite easy to reach, find the place, check in and check out. Despite some difficulties caused by the local tax which we had to do on our own (unlike our other experiences in Montenegro), the location itself was perfect. It was nice and close to the beaches and swimming spots near Herceg Novi and close enough to the city centre. The water in the bay was perfect and the bars and cafes and resturants were great during our stay. The host tries her best to make you comfortable, and despite having some language difficulties, tries her best to answer all questions as quickly as she can.
The fact that the local tax had to be paid by us, rather than by the host was a minor inconvenience (although she was quite apologetic about it and she did her best to help us. We were told by the tourist office that it was supposed to be done by the hosts and not by us, but it was easily resolved in the end after 20/30 minutes of figuring out the system in Herceg Novi). In addition, the bar nearby plays very loud music till 1AM in the night, so, if you are disturbed by loud music, you would not find the nights to be pleasant.
