Our family of 5 (two adults, 3 children) had a great stay. Location is great for exploring the area...Florence, Siena, Pisa, Lucca are all within an hour or so. The house and farm itself are authentic and beautiful. The kids loved the donkeys, chickens, and especially Maia the dog (who came to hang out regularly) andthe cats, Dante and Prettina.

We started our two week Italy vacation at Il Bacio. It was an incredibly relaxing way to begin. We had a rental car to make trips to the market (Coop in Tabarnelle Val Di Pesa) and side trips to Florence, Antinori Vineyard and Montalcino. The pool was a cool retreat on our warm September days. The visiting pets made us feel right at home! Our hosts were helpful and we enjoyed exploring their vineyard and the wine tasting. We spent most of our time under the pergola/dining table with coffee in the mornings and appertivo/dinner in the evenings. We like to cook and the property was well equipped for it. Highly recommend this authentic Tuscan retreat.

We enjoyed everything about our stay at the apartment. The views across the valley were incredible. The apartment is clean and well maintained. The location is perfect for day trips to Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca and more. We would love to stay again next time we take a trip to Tuscany. Sonia and Franco were fantastic hosts. This is exactly the relaxing quiet vacation stop we were looking for.

If you’ve ever dreamt of walking into the postcard beauty of rolling hills covered in vineyards, olive orchards, and stunning villas all under a gorgeous Tuscan sky, this is the place to stay! Excellent accommodations, a tranquil pool area, and the nicest hosts you can imagine all make staying here a trip relaxing and comfortable. Fresh bread each morning courtesy of the hosts, great prices on their wines, and friendly donkeys are great perks as well.
The nearby town of Tavernelle Val di Pesa has all the amenities you’d want and there are many amazing restaurants a short drive from the property. We make staying here part of every trip to the area!

Beautiful Setting
Friendly and helpful hosts who gave us ideas about where to go and what to see in the area. Comfortable lodging with a full kitchen. Only downside was spotty cell service and WiFi. Would definitely recommend.

I was completely blown away at the beauty of the property and more importantly the hosts. They were extremely hospitable and assisted us 4 ladies with our bags, showing us parts of the town to visit including directions to the local grocery store. In addition was so kind as to show us the process of making wine including grape picking!! Truly exceeded the Tuscany experience I was hoping to have 😊👍

Perfect Tuscan stay for our family
The property is very well kept, very clean and has such an authentic feel. The owners, Sonia and Franco, made us very welcome and the animals roaming the farm kept the children entertained.
The pool was kept very clean, the views from the villa were excellent and the location could not have been better for all the places we wanted to visit.
Franco gave us a tasting of the homegrown and produced wine, which was excellent.
Overall could not fault a single aspect of the stay at this lovely villa. The only problem we had was with the brutal mosquitos which was partly due to our unpreparedness and a problem that the owners can't really do anything about.

Such lovely people!
The perfect Tuscan property, understated, in striking distance to many Tuscan towns, but away from the tourist mayhem. And reasonably priced. Sonia and Franco are true gentle souls.

We loved our stay. A highlight of our trip. Sonia and Franco were amazing hosts ! They made a restaurant reservation for us, gave us our own personal wine tasting and made us feel so very welcome.

Beautiful chianti hills stay
We stayed 4 nights at Il Bacio. My wife, two adult children and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a 3 bedroom apartment that was just the perfect size for us. There is a nice little kitchen so we could make breakfast every morning. Sonia had eggs, fruit, bread and olive oil waiting for us per our request as we arrived late in the evening.
The views are incredible, the owners warm and inviting and the apartment was tastefully decorated. We enjoyed tasting their organic olive oil and wine, as well as touring the countryside. There is a grocery store in town as well as a fantastic pizzeria, Il Fornace. We were hardly there during the day, seeing as much as we could, but it was great to come back to wonderful views and sunsets and some informal wine tasting.
We hoep to be back some day!

One of the most beautiful places we have ever stayed. The accommodations were clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the property and the sunsets so much we decided to just cook dinner there every night and enjoy the Il Bacio wine. Franco and Sonia are two of the nicest people you will ever meet.

Very rustic and quite!!
Super villa to relax and enjoy the Tuscan farming lifestyle! A bit remote, but tranquil! Sonia, Franco, and son, Daniel, made us feel welcome and provided us with great hospitality.

Tuscany farmhouse
The owners, Franco and Sonia were terrific. Their vineyard was lovely as their wine wonderful. It was centrally located for all the day trips that we wanted to do. What prevents this from being a 5 star review is the beds. All of the beds were very uncomfortable and bedding needs to be updated. Really no one slept well for the entire time there. If better mattress and more high quality bedding were in place, this would be a 5 star review.

We loved our 7 nights here, so quiet, calm and green. Amazing hosts, very welcoming.
Everything the we had hoped for and more. Country atmosphere with an easy drive into Firenze. Walks in the Chiani hills, and pool swims were very relaxing. Thankyou so much to our very gracious hosts Sonia and Franco, with Sarah. Cheers from the 4 of us!

These people were lovely and their accommodations very quaint. A wonderful feeling of the valley.
Sonia and Franco were such great hosts. They really have a love for people and the lifestyle they live is hard work, but their hearts are completely into it all. They went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed and drove us into town a number of times. Their wine is soo amazing, we bought two cases of it. I recommend you take them up on the offer to purchase your food and items ahead so that when you arrive you will have what you need. I would say you need a car here if you want to visit the surrounding cities. We rented the 3 bedroom two bath with a kitchen and a great little outside sitting area. The view from their property is beautiful. We loved it and the family, too!

WOW! Spectacular!!!
Il Bacio was everything I expected and more. It is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been. The setting is spectacular. The views are spectacular. The hosts, Sonia and Franco are spectacular. The location is spectacular. The wine is spectacular.
We were a bit concerned when we first arrived. The roads are steep and windy, narrow and bumpy. We were driving a huge van with a manual shift. It was a little unnerving initially. That all disappeared when we arrived at Il Bacio and met Sonia. My nerves just melted away. She gave us a bottle of their delicious Chianti wine and showed us around our “home.” It was immaculate and cozy. I felt like I stepped back in time. A true little farmhouse. The pool is beautiful and relaxing.
Sonia and Franco were so helpful with suggestions and directions. They made reservations for us at restaurants and helped us with our trips into Florence. I felt like they were family, not hosts in a “hotel.”
The location is a bit remote, but this turned out to be perfect for us. The driving was much easier than we initially thought. The supermarket was close by as well as some wonderful restaurants.
There were a few small things that I feel I need to mention, although I hate to. The showers are very small but manageable, and there were some ants but we solved that by keeping wet towels off the floor. That said, it is Italy and it is a farm.
These did not change at all how I feel about Il Bacio. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. I would recommend anyone stay here. It is perfect. I only wish I could have stayed longer!
Thank you Sonia and Franco. I hope to see you again!

Stunning vineyard and wonderful hosts
What can I say? This place is a true gem. The photos do not do this place justice!
From the minute we arrived Sonia and Franco made us feel at home. It was a surprise trip for my fiancé’s 30th birthday and we arranged with Sonia to have a vineyard tour and a home cooked Italian dinner on his birthday which was simply divine! We even had a taste of their organic wines with each course which included antipasti, pasta and traditional Tuscan dishes.
The farm is in a remote and quiet location, about 3kms away from the friendly village of Tavarnelle, which was a nice 45 to 60 minute walk in the evening sun. A good tip - if you want a taxi home make sure you ask in a restaurant as soon as your arrive! There’s only one taxi in the village and they need some advance notice!
There’s a few nice restaurants in Tavarnelle and a co-op shop full of great value Chianti (from €2!) and wonderful local produce including hams and amazing cheeses - the Gorgonzola is to die for!
If you’re looking for a relaxing and quiet break (with no TV!), a taste of the true Italian lifestyle (and wine!) then this is the place for you. Don’t worry - if you need to keep some contact with the outside world there’s really good WiFi signal in the villas, and it reaches to pool area too!
It’s also really easy to get around when you’re there and you’re only 30 mins from Florence and Siena and just over an hour from Pisa. There are bus options too if you don’t want to drive, but I would probably recommend a car.
I cannot wait to come and visit Sonia, Franco, Agather (their friendly dog!), the cats and their beautiful farm again soon.
What a wonderful holiday thank you so much!

Lovely, cozy, authentic, with lovely hosts
We enjoyed a week at Il Bacio in December, received by Sonia, and treated warmly by she along with Franco and Daniele. We enoyed Il Bacio wine and olive oil, walks along the country lane, and the nearby idyllic old Tuscan towns, including Tavernelle a few minutes drive from the farm.

Incredible Experience
We were in Europe for 4 1/2 weeks, and staying at this organic farm was absolutely a highlight of our trip and definitely our favorite accommodations. Sonia and Franco are amazing people--so kind and gracious and very accommodating. Franco took the time from his Sunday "rest day" to give us a private tour of his vineyard and a wine tasting. Their organic wine is wonderful (we ordered a case to be sent home), and it was so nice to be able to purchase it for our meals while we were staying there. Italy was quite hot while we were there and the pool was so refreshing and a great place to relax. Our room was spotless, the beds were very comfortable and we had all the amenities that we needed. We cooked many meals and enjoyed dinner on our private patio overlooking the pool and the Chianti countryside. Beautiful place, beautiful hosts and an incredible 6 days. We will definitely be back to stay at this wonderful place. Thank you Franco, Sonia and Daniele.

Fantastic place, terrific hosts
We stayed in a 3-bedroom villa in Il Bacio from April 22nd to 28th 2017 and loved every minute of it. All accommodations were exactly as described - beautiful, clean and comfortable. The hospitality of Sonia and Franco exceeded all expectations. We were running very late and arrived after 10 PM. They waited for us and greeted us warmly and helped to get settled. We were after a long drive and did not have a supper, so they brought bread, cheese, salami and wine for us - all delicious.
The place is conveniently located for travel to Florence, Sienna, Pisa and all places in between. Additionally, we are very grateful to our hosts for pointing us towards many small towns and medieval villages in the area that we had a great pleasure visiting.

Relaxing Tuscan homebase
"Ill Bacio" was the perfect location for our week in Tuscany, the property is beautiful beyond words, the hosts Franco, Sonya and Daniele were warm and offered great recommendations and even a tour of the wine making process despite being in the middle of harvest. The beds were comfortable and the unit had the perfect amount of space for us to enjoy an outside dinner one evening. It was an easy bus ride into Florence, and easy access to all of the chianti region. I would and probably will stay here again. This was our last stop on our Italian vacation, the perfect r way to soak in the beauty of the Tuscan culture and to close out our adventures, in a warm, relaxing environment.

Beautiful farm house!
Franco and Sonia's farm property is beyond words. The pictures on the VRBO site don't do this beautiful piece of paradise justice. It's a little piece of heaven. Franco and Sonia are so helpful when we needed ANYTHING! The fresh bread delivered each morning was such a treat.
We just happen to be there during their first harvest of grapes on the farm and got to join in in the cutting of the grapes. It was the highlight of our trip. This family is so kind. I highly recommend this farm house to anyone.

Just what we hoped it would be
Sonia and Franco and their lovely family are so welcoming. The tour and wine tasting of their organic vineyard was very informative and their wine is just fabulous. We stayed in Il Fienile which is a 3 bedroom separate house and was comfortable and clean with everything available for kitchen use including a dishwasher which was very useful. We managed to sit out every night (although it was a bit chilly in the evenings) but I would recommend taking some citronella candles with you as the bugs were really biting (time of year perhaps). If we were going back to Chianti again we would certainly consider returning to Il Bacio. Certainly the description listed was accurate and the customer service was second to none. Some groceries were purchased for us for our arrival (at our request and payment) and Franco brought us fresh bread every morning (apart from Sundays) which was still warm. They were happy to give us directions and information on the local area. The only "local" restaurant we ate in was La Fattoria in Romita which was 5 minutes drive away. Superb!

Delightful setting nestled in Chianti hillside vineyards
We stayed a week and regretted leaving. Apart from a beautiful setting and views all round, our hosts were warm and helpful and proved organic production makes for wonderful wine. It's halfway between Florence and Siena and lots of charming villages are close by for walks and sunset dinners. The family owners are fourth generation and take care that your stay is a delight. Highly recommended.
