The house was perfect for our group: 2 couples celebrating a birthday. Water pressure in the shower was great. Location was perfect for us: quiet area, we were able to see stars at night, and we enjoyed the view of alpacas across the street!

Set in a rural surrounding with beautiful trees turning brilliant colors while I was there, this cabin was the perfect retreat for me and my friends. More than enough room for 2 couples, clean and cozy. Close to downtown Charlottesville and numerous wineries and great restaurants in Gordonsville. I would definitely reserve this property again.

The Cottage was very clean and cozy. We really enjoyed sitting on the screened-in porch. Would definitely recommend this if you're looking for a quiet place to unplug for awhile.

We enjoyed staying here. It is very quiet and peaceful.

We loved not only the cute cottage home, but the entire property. We came hoping to see the meteor shower. We were not disappointed! The fields were perfect to view the amazing night sky. The home had everything we needed and more. They’ve done a a wonderful job keeping it updated while maintaining its amazing character. We would absolutely stay here again!

We enjoyed playing tourist at Monticello and Mt. Vernon, but wished we had more time to spend relaxing at this cottage. All of the house was wonderful. The screened-in porch was our favorite place to spend our mornings ... and evenings ... and any time when we were there and weren't sleeping! The cottage is located in beautiful farmland and is very quiet. One evening when we came 'home', there were several wild rabbits in the backyard. We should have thought to ask if we could have stayed another night. We were too tired from touristing to think of it.

We had a wonderful time. Wonderful property and very responsive owner! Stayed the weekend while attending a wedding at Keswick vineyard.

This is my second stay at Wine Country Cottage. It is an adorable cottage with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and relaxing. The screened in porch was a wonderful place to listen to the birds, watch the groundhog family eat their dinner and read a book. I would go back again for a 3rd time!!

A friend and I were in the area to celebrate a milestone Birthday. I have stayed in numerous VRBOs and found this one to be well appointed with plenty of linens, soap, etc. and lots of homey decor.
The home was very clean and was a nice place to return after a day in Charlottesville. It is definitely rural and quiet but the internet service was very good. Without a TV, my friend and I were able to talk the nights away.
We enjoyed the openness of the house and all the personal touches.

This was a dream for us. Relaxing atmosphere, beautifully appointed home, comfortable surroundings. So grateful t have had the experience!

Beautiful property. House was so cozy and equipped with all our needs. The host gave us some great food and winery suggestions. They did an outstanding job in turning this homestead into a relaxing place to get away. It was a little further out than we expected but the drive was not bad. Hope we can utilize the pond on our next visit. Weather did not cooperate for this trip! Oh, everyone was in awe over the huge refrigerator!! Great remodeling job in the kitchen 👏

Super cozy cottage with everything you need for a stay in wine country. Close to many wineries, and cideries and wonderful restaurants. Property was so calming. We spent the majority of our time in the huge screened in porch. After days spent out exploring we couldn't wait to get back to the cottage.

The property was easy to find and perfectly located for the activities we had planned. The house was equipped with a fully furnished kitchen and all bed rooms had appropriate linens and the bathrooms were well stocked. We had a great time and the house was very comfortable.

Very easy to get to, charming and full of amenities. Hosts let us check in early. Beds are small and mattresses a bit lumpy and pillows a bit flat. We brought our own firepit which was kind of the hosts to let us bring-they should have one as is the perfect lot for one

We loved our stay at the Wine Country cottage over fall break. The property is beautiful, and the cottage is cozy with all the amenities of home. The cottage is in a lovely rural area but was only a thirty-minute, scenic drive from the historical sites, downtown Chartlottesville, apple orchards, and beautiful hiking trails. Thank you for some beautiful memories.

I rented this cottage for a weekend with my grandparents to celebrate their anniversary and my grandma's 81st birthday. The effects of Hurricane Ian looked threatening in the days leading up to the trip, and although it ended up being damp and rainy the whole weekend, it could have been much worse and honestly brought its own kind of charm to the experience.
We spent plenty of time staying cozy inside the cottage, which impressed all three of us. The pictures made us want to stay there, of course, but it was actually even nicer in-person. It's surprisingly roomy, with great appliances and amazing, huge showers. The decor is really adorable, and most of the furniture is quite comfy. With the weather, we didn't spend as much time on the screened-in porch as we probably would have, but that's got to be one of the standout features of the place. The wifi was plenty speedy for helping me plan our agenda and for streaming a couple of movies after our daytime adventures. The surrounding area is peaceful and warrants some exploring, and the small farm across the street had some horses and alpacas that brought smiles to our faces.
Even with the gloomy weather, we were still able to explore the town of Louisa, with its welcoming small town vibes. We drove to the nearby Carter Mountain Orchard to pick apples and enjoy the views, covered in a cool layer of fog. We explored Lake Anna State Park, which was interesting but would have benefitted from better weather, for sure. The only real disappointment was driving over near Waynesboro to check out the Skyline Drive, which is supposed to be scenic but didn't offer much, and it probably would have been much better in nicer weather.
The fact that we were so happy with this trip despite the weather says wonders about how great this cottage is to stay in. I'm from Richmond, VA, and my grandparents are from Williamsburg, so it was a convenient trip that allowed us to get away from the world a bit while still offering plenty nearby to do and a lovely basecamp at the center of it all.

This property beautiful and quiet. There is a horse farm across the street that made relaxing sights while have some morning coffee. The house is well kept and clean. The one recommendation I would make to people staying here is, if you plan on going out and coming back after dark make sure you leave some lights on. It will be your beacon to know where the house is. For some reason the GPS had the house a half block further down the road. I highly recommended this property if you want to relax and see the beauty of Virginia’s Wine country.

As listed. We actually thought there was more space than we were expecting. One note, there is no TV. With cell phones and iPads these days, not much of an issue, just an FYI as that is uncommon.

We absolutely loved the farmhouse. It was quaint and cozy and exactly as described. Sitting on the back porch with a cup of coffee in the morning was heavenly. My husband and daughter enjoyed fishing at the pond daily and spent great quality time together. Just wish we could have stayed longer but we will be back, for sure. Everything about the farmhouse and its location is just perfect!

What a wonderful, comfortable stay! The cottage is spacious, it feels like it has been loved, and it was a perfect place for a quiet weekend getaway. The screened porch was perfect and where we spent much of our time. Hopefully we'll be back again!

Perfect setting
The 2 bedroom/2 bathroom house worked out perfectly for the 4 of us. The setting is beautiful and it was really great that Sharon and Butch not only share this great home with you, but also let you explore the property. We took some great walks and enjoyed the quiet nature. The well stocked kitchen was much appreciated. We were in the area for a wedding in Charlottesville and it was an easy drive into Charlottesville but really nice to come back to the quite of the country at night. The upstairs bedroom stays a little warm, but our stay here was great!

Very relaxing spot
What a wonderful house to get you to slow down! We loved sitting on the screened in porch and watching the groundhogs. It was a cool spot even in the heat of the afternoon. No tv meant we played more board games and spent more time reading which was a plus. The house was nicely furnished and the bathrooms were generous. We had everything we needed for the long weekend. The location was convenient to Charlottesville but just far enough that one night we happily chose to stay in rather than venture out. Would like to come back!

Like Visiting A Modernized Family Home Amidst Farms
This red and white cottage is nestled on farmland in the rolling hills of the Virginia piedmont. It is stylishly and comfortably furnished, with several couches and chairs throughout. The kitchen is well stocked, and extra linens are available in closets upstairs and down. It would be perfect for a small gathering of friends and family, though my husband and I sought it out for a getaway on our own. The four-poster bed on the main floor looks luxurious, yet it was the bed in the upstairs quarters (under skylights) where I slept best. Both bathrooms have spacious tile showers with plenty of natural lighting and counter space. Large windows throughout provided us with views of the property and neighboring farm/rescue. We were delighted to observe plenty of wildlife while walking the property or when drinking coffee on the screened porch. We probably would have been content to stay there for our entire 5 day trip to Virginia, yet the property is convenient to wineries, historical landmarks, Charlottesville, and Richmond. (There is no TV, which was fine for me. My husband used his Ipad.) It really reminded me of visiting my grandparents as a child with a contemporary twist. We hope to return with our son on a future trip.

Peaceful Virginia country cottage
Myself, husband, in-laws and two children (2 years and 7 months) stayed this past weekend at the sweet little cottage in the rural country side of Virginia. We had a wonderful time and enjoyed the quietness that the backroads provided. We had ample running space for our two year old and we really enjoyed having the option to enjoy the outdoors while being enclosed on the screened in porch for our two year old. An old wooden highchair is provided which was perfect for our two year old to be able to reach the table and then we brought along a travel highchair for our 7 month old. Coffee, sugar and powdered creamer was a sweet little luxury that the home owner provided and was very much welcomed and enjoyed on the porch. While there is no tv, there is Wi-Fi and it worked great to provide some tv time for the little guy when needed. Despite being on backroads, it’s not too far from some small towns that provide some eating options and we also placed a food lion grocery order to go which made traveling even easier. The owner is incredibly helpful and very communicative. She provided a lot of advice for things to do in the area and answered all our questions. We highly suggest staying at this location!

This property feels like home... in one of the most peaceful, pastoral locations I've had the pleasure of visiting. A friend with whom I shared photos commented on how the place looked like her idea of what Heaven would look like. And that couldn't be more true. So if you read this and share that view, do yourself a favor and book your stay. We hope to return again for longer next time. Thank you, Sharon & Butch for having us.

Quiet setting in the country but only 30 minutes to downtown Charlottesville. Nice older home that is well-kept. Sharon was excellent in communicating with us. She even checked on us when she thought we were arriving later than expected.

Birding Paradise
This cottage is a gem! It was clean and spacious with an awesome layout. The indoors was always flooded with lots of natural light and from the windows we could watch many types of birds! We enjoyed the screened in porch and woke up each morning to the songs of the songbirds! Conveniently located to orange and Gordonsville
