Situated in Sudden Valley, this charming house for $169 per night is a fantastic choice for your next break. Lake and mountain views in the front, golf course in the back. Clean and cozy 3 bedroom home, designed to relax and enjoy all Sudden Valley has to offer. Just a short 4 minute walk to the marina at the lake. Surrounded by walking trails, lovely quiet neighborhood. A short drive or Uber/Lift ride to Western Washington, Fairhaven and all that makes Bellingham so unique and special. Your VRBO will be the upstairs of the house and there is a long term tenant in the unit downstairs (separate entrances) Please see rules and regs so everyone can enjoy themselves. .

The views and serenity were great! Beds and linens were cozy and the kitchen had all we needed. Met up with family and house fit our 3 generations perfectly!

The home was lovely and the view was amazing. We could have stayed just to look out the window all day. The beds were very comfortable, kitchen had plenty of space to prep and cook, and the living room was cozy and warm with the fireplace going. One thing to note is that the driveway is on the steaper side and it made me a little nervous having my dad walk up and down it on the one rainy day we had but when it was sunny and dry it didn't cause him any issues. Overall it was an excellent place to stay and the host had great communication with us.

Cozy, warm, fireplace was great. Spacious rooms, clean and organizecd, great view of the lake. We appreciated the access to washer and dryer. I liked the kitchenware and pans.

We found the property to be all we’d hoped for - comfortable, great location, and lovely places to walk nearby with lots of deer and even a few rabbits. Everything was clear and easy, from checking in to cooking a few meals to doing a load of laundry. The host was friendly and responsive to our questions. We hope to stay here again in the future.

5 gals stayed for the weekend and enjoyed hiking, kayaking, and friendship. What a beautiful place to stay. Plenty of room for all of us. We loved sitting on the deck enjoying the beautiful views. Would love to do it again sometime!

My Idea of Paradise!
The location (one block away from Lake Whatcom) was perfect! Sudden Valley is quiet and BEAUTIFUL! Fawns and rabbits are everywhere and even when it rains, it has a serene feel to it! Clean, comfortable, quiet property with lovely views
Samantha's property was well appointed and updated. The kitchen is well stocked with items needed to prepare a meal, beds are comfy, and the fireplace cozy. Large windows afford beautiful views of the lovely deck, lake and mountains beyond. Samantha was a prompt and thorough communicator for any questions. Overall a great stay and value.

This place is in a neighborhood but close to the lake and the golf course (but has houses around it). Someone lives in basement, with a separate entrance, but it wasn’t a problem. The house was well-stocked and super clean (and I’m a clean freak). Hiking very close by and reasonable drive into Bellingham.

A Gem in Sudden Valley
We stayed over the Thanksgiving holiday and the house was perfect! It was my mother (77) and myself., plus we entertained our family for Thanksgiving dinner.
Yes, the driveway is steep but completely manageable, don’t let the other comments sway you. The house is charming and the peekaboo view of the lake is beautiful. The whole Sudden Valley area is breathtaking. We even saw deer playing in the back yard, The house comes complete with a full kitchen and everything you might need plus extra linens, towels, comforters, etc. It was very well stocked.
The owner, Samantha, is a dream to work with. She is friendly, accommodating, and quick to respond should you have any questions.
All in all, I say book this house now!

The lighting outside was a bit frustrating. It was dark & rainy and hard to navigate where to park. There were no outside lights until finally we hit the first step and a motion light came on. Everything else was fantastic!

Wonderful Stay!
The property was just as listed in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood with a gorgeous lake view. Well-appointed and spotlessly clean. Samantha, the owner, was very friendly, responsive, and accommodating. A wonderful stay!

We were a family of four, parents and two young adult kids. The three bedrooms were a real plus in making sure everyone had their own space. The interior shots of the house were spot on, everything was very clean. It's an older property that has been remodeled nicely. The two fabbo golf/valley views in the description don't quite match up with reality after our long hot summer. The marina and leisure area for sure were looking very tired and jaded when we stopped off to check them out. The check in process was very smooth, easy to find location with straight forward "no key" access and no gate attendant. Yes the drive is steep but not an issue after the initial unpack, not suitable for older grandparents etc. Really appreciated the motion sensor exterior lights as we arrived after dark. Parking on the gravel pad was also easily accessed for our single vehicle. We loved the fireplace and used it every morning to knock the chill off, we didn't use the baseboard heat at all. The couch and lounge chair were very comfortable but there's' really only space for three people to relax at once if you have tall people like we do.
The kitchen is well stocked with plenty of plates/dishes. We ate in dinners most of the time and had just one issue where using multiple appliances with the oven on threw a breaker. For some reason the oven is on the same circuit as half the rest of the kitchen and there's no apparent GIF. It took a while to figure out who to call (the number is in the binder but not on the VRBO site). The "emergency" contact is not Samantha (her tel number goes to an unchecked voice mail), but a property management company rep whose voicemail box was full! A text message got through and we triaged the situation via text and were able to access the fuse box in the locked garage and reset the circuit. Apparently this was a fluke event but we didn't use the oven after this.
We used the house as a base to explore the area including a day out on San Juan Island (about an hour to Anacortes), whale watching from Fairhaven (less than half hour), and hiking at Mount Baker. Location wise it could not be more perfect for this.
