Our family of four truly loved staying at historic Stone & Cal. The home was comfortable and had everything we needed for our 8-day stay. We especially loved the outdoor areas and spent lots of time relaxing in both the front courtyard and in the rear seating area overlooking Sofia's lovely yard. Sofia is such a gracious host and we enjoyed getting to know her. She was very responsive to our needs and her extra touches ensured that we had all that we needed for a great visit. The location of the home is very convenient to all the sights in Sintra (we suggest taking an Uber to avoid the frustration of driving and parking in congested Sintra) plus very near a number of gorgeous beaches. Colares is a nice stop for groceries, a brewery, etc. We also appreciated the daily outdoor visits from the neighbor's sweet orange cat and viewing Sofia's chickens from a distance. Thank you, Sofia, for the care you take in ensuring that your guests are well taken care of and happy! You helped make our vacation memorable!

This spacious, thoughtful accommodation was perfect for our family reunion. Sofia is a gracious, available host. We found this property to be stunningly beautiful with incredible views, and the perfect spot for our trip of 4-5 days - you can easily access any point of interest for sightseeing or the less-touristy attractions as well. Simply gorgeous! We highly recommend this property and host :)

The property that we rented was very pleasant Towels and sheets were clean and the beds were comfortable. We were impressed with the art work on the walls and also the design of the house. There were many interesting layers to the house as well as a front and back courtyard. Sofia was an excellent host and was always available if needed ere are quite a few steps in the house so I would not recommend this rental for anyone that has trouble walking. I would think kids would love all the different areas. The kitchen was well stocked with glasses, silverware etc and all appliances worked well. The only suggestion I would make is to get one of those coffee makers that uses the small cups for a cup of coffee or espresso. There is a plunger glass coffee maker but I didn't like dealing with the coffee grounds. We wound up drinking tea which suited us fine.

The property was an absolute oasis. The house stays good during the warm days without any fans or AC. The outdoor wading pool was perfect as collection point during happy hour. We even played the perfectly tuned piano. We discovered a route between the property that really made all the difference in the world to use the more straight road which buses travel as well.

We just spent 8 days in this charming home in Sintra. Lots of character, comfortable areas to gather with our family, several outdoor eating options—always surrounded by beautiful gardens. Lovely atmosphere and close to beaches, palaces, and breathtaking drives along the coast. Comfortable beds, well equipped kitchen, and Sofia lives right next door. A wonderful spot for a vacation with family or friends.

Sowohl das Haus als auch der Garten sind mit äußerst viel Sorgfalt und Liebe zum Detail gestaltet. Wir haben eine Woche dort verbracht und deutlich weniger unternommen, als wir uns vorgenommen hatten, statt dessen haben wir einfach nur das Haus und den Garten genossen. Die Lage ist sehr gut, man ist mit dem Auto innerhalb von 10 - 20 Minuten an schönen Atlantik Stränden, in Sintra und bei den (vielen) Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Nähe. Sofia war bei all unseren Fragen und Wünschen äußerst hilfreich und entgegenkommend, auch die Restaurantempfehlungen waren hervorragend!

Von außen unscheinbar, öffnet sich nach Innen ein wahres Schmuckstück. Sofia unsere Gastgeberin hat es mit ganz viel Liebe gestaltet. Wir wurden sehr herzlich von Ihr empfangen und umsorgt. Sie sorgte mit Ihrer freundlichen Art dafür, dass wir uns sofort zu Hause gefühlt haben. Das Haus selbst war wunderschön. In warmen Farben gehalten und von Sofia künstlerisch ausgestaltet war es einfach die Wucht. Wir sind uns sicher dass wir wiederkommen werden

We spent 3 rainy days there with friends and loved it. The fireplace was lovely, the mattresses comfortable, no humidity smell (a rarity in Portugal). We will go back with some sun to enjoy the splendid garden, pergola and mini pool. Sofia made her best to accomodate for the checkin/out. Bonus for the well-equipped kitchen, you can really cook elaborated meals for 5 people and more.

We absolutely loved Sofia’s house! It’s spacious, very clean and its location is fabulous! Close to Sintra’s highlights, beautiful beaches and cities like Cascais/Lisbon. We definitely recommend this wonderful spot!

Entre Sintra e a praia, um dos melhores alojamentos em que fiquei. Casa com tudo o que é essencial, esplendidamente decorada, com uma área exterior não muito grande mas que invoca a pacatez e a comunhão com a natureza.

Sofia's house is really spectacular. We had a beautiful vacation. Sofia was always available for any need, especially in these difficult times of covid. We enjoyed delicious lunches with fresh food from the area, walks, the small pool in the garden. The fireplace, and a beautiful piano in the living room. It was an idyllic vacation. We had problems with flights from NY, but Sofia was very willing to help us. Highly recommended.

The property is filled with exquisite artwork and we realized the host is/was an accomplished artist. The space was peaceful and anything we asked for appeared like magic~ The gardens were charming with an old world feel-

Wir wurden sehr liebenswürdig, familiär empfangen...die Hausfrau kam uns 2 mal etwas bringen nach der Ankunft - Holz für den Kamin, eine Advendskerze - alles war so geschmackvoll vintage eingerichtet...wie zu Hause. Sehr, sehr schön.

La casa es aún más bonita que en las fotografías: interior espacioso, acogedor, familiar y muy bien equipado; un jardín agradable y fresco donde comer, tomar el café y hacer largas siestas. La situación también es ideal: a pesar de la cercanía de Sintra, la zona es muy tranquila, con pueblos encantadores y estupendas playas poco frecuentadas. Nuestra amfitriona Sofía ha sido en todo momento muy amable y cercana, y sus indicaciones muy acertadas. Una experiencia excelente en todos los sentidos!
