The property was spacious and in a great location. It’s a quirky set up but plenty of room for 6 adults and my 2year old grandson with stair gates provided for his safety as the house has multiple levels. Bedding was clean and house was in a fairly good condition. We were left a welcome basket of bread,eggs,tea and coffee and some chocolate biscuits which was a nice touch they also left milk, cheese and butter for us in the fridge. There were games and toys available for my grandson and ample kitchenware. The house was warm with plenty of hot water. A lovely place to stay for a home from home feel.
We booked the house specifically as it had a hot tub and were happy to pay the extra for it. Unfortunately after I had paid for the house I contacted the host to let her know we would pay for the use of the hot tub (as it was a little extra)we were informed that the hot tub was broken and not in use. The booking had a no refund policy so we had to go or loose money. We then needed to pay a housekeeping deposit of £150. Unfortunately the bank details that were sent did not match exactly what the bank suggested and we were told they must match. We had no email correspondence just what’s apps despite messaging via booking.com as well but the host did say she had trouble receiving messages via WhatsApp. It was a complex situation for us all as she could not realise the code for the key until the deposit was paid as per company policy but there was nobody available to meet us at the property so we could pay in cash as stated when booking. It was a very confusing and stressful situation. We did end up getting the code about 20 min before we were due to set off with the chances of our weekend being cancelled.
The house was clean but not spotless. There were children chocolate hand prints on the wall and the fridge hadn’t been wiped down from previous occupants. The dressing table in the bedroom was also very dusty and had not been wiped and the stairs had not been hoovered. The host had told us that an outside company was in charge of cleaning currently so I do believe this is why it wasn’t up to 100% standard.

The house is amazing with a lot of charm and squeaking wooden floors upstairs. It is very warm, comfortable and spacious. It is also 5 min from the city centre located on a quiet street. Iwona was amazing and available to accommodate everything we needed. Thank you
