Staff were excellent, room was spacious and extremely comfortable, and the bathroom did exactly the job needed. The hotel itself is in a convenient location, well looked after, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The whisky bar has an incredible range of whiskies and breakfast was very good too.

An eccentric stay that was much improved by lovely staff and a generous breakfast. I turned up late and a smiling receptionist was there to meet me and hoik my heavy cases up two steep flights of stairs, which was much appreciated. There was a good selection of whisky at the bar. Good wifi. Good water pressure.
The place had a touch of the Miss Haversham's about it - a once grand residence, now rather fusty and down-at-heel. My room was a disappointment. It not well insulated, there was a gap between the bed and the wall which made sleeping feel rather precarious. The paint on the woodwork was chipped.
