Exceptional

Room is amazing - large, modern, comfortable and clean. Big bathroom. Restaurant's meals were great. Location is fantastic, very scenic and close to Giethoorn. Staff is friendly and helpful. Also kettle in the room - seems to be a luxury in many European hotels.

Quiet and comfortable overnight stay, for the price it was good value.

Quiet location on the banks of a river. Large modern bedroom and bathroom. A big radiator to dry my cycling clothes. Restaurant attached with a good selection of food and drink, very good atmosphere like an old English pub. The prices were reasonable. A good breakfast was supplied the next morning.

It’s not a complaint, just an observation. This was a very isolated location and you would need a car or taxi to get into town. But you would know this when you made your booking.

Perfect for a short getaway and great food

Outdated room, yet the shower/bathroom was very modern and nice. The restaurant although a little more on the expensive side, was superb! Definitely worth a visit.

Lights went off 3-4 times while showering for less than 10 minutes. Motion detectors should be set to a longer time. No electric charging station for a car although booking.com says otherwise. The bathroom floor was very cold! But we were still quite happy with our stay.

Very rude hostess and inaccessible location without car

the food was good and location was quite beautiful and peaceful

Where do I even start! First off, I booked this for my birthday weekend and on booking.com they sent me the details on how to reach the property- the bus they mentioned from the train station doesn’t even ply on weekends and they knew this and still misled me. When I asked for help, they only said oh sorry and asked me to book a taxi and it cost as much as my stay! On arrival we were given a room with no view and when we requested to change the room they said they are fully booked even though check in had just started. When we asked to be served outside (where we had made a dinner reservation on arrival with a waitress) the owner (I presume), curtly said they won’t serve us outside because of the cold. okay no problem. The final straw was on our check out time. my brother had a small cake which we cut on the terrace outside for my birthday and were quietly eating when the same woman came and very very rudely told us that we couldn’t eat our own food there. We apologised but she wouldn’t stop giving us grief for doing so even after we told her it was my birthday and we didn’t know and would leave immediately. I understand we should have asked before cutting the cake but she was extremely rude about asking us to not eat on her property and people like this should really not be in hospitality. The place is truly beautiful but the host is truly inhospitable and arrogant. Left a bad taste in my mouth on my birthday.

Cozy hotel with excellent accomodations (comfortable beds, cozy and comfortable room design, great breakfast in a cozy hotel with great location for nature and exploration with our dog). Highly recommended!

Peaceful country side, fresh air, cozy place. We arrived 10 pm and we had a warm greeting and the most delicious food. Facility was both fancy and vintage, 20 mintues drive away from Geithoorn. I loved every thing about the place, recommended for couples, small group of friends/family

Amazing stay again at Geertien! So peaceful on the water and that typical Dutch view, staff is friendly.. Highly recommend this place to everyone. Breakfast is also nice.

There were two big dogs unleashed, they ran towards me barking. I confronted them, but it could be my wife or my daughter. They would have got a lot of scare.

Superb

Wonderful location, beautiful garden for meals and drinks. There is a big parking area as well. The room was functional and had all the basic things necessary. Breakfast was delicious, had a moderate spread and not very elaborate.

Pleasant

For one time experience it was good. That was all our idea. It was quiet and cossy. We enjoyed the dinner (it was bit pricey though)

I felt the price (including stay and breakfast) was high for the service you get.

Nice hotel and great restaurant

Restaurant is amazing the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, very peaceful 45 minute walk to blokzijl

A little expensive but perhaps because we could only book a room for four for two people.

Very nice stay

The staff is really nice and accomodating they go the extra mile to make for a pleasant stay (they transformed empty rooms into private diner room so we could enjoy their very nice diner under covid regulation) The breakfast is very nice with a lot of nice food.... but then no real coffee bit instant coffee !!! That was the only min point of this location that I am confident tehy can easily improve upon. Still a very nice place

well worth the price, and if i ever will be in the area again, i will definatly come back.

It's a really nice hotel, beatiful rooms and a very nice location. Dinner at the cafe was good, and the staff was really friendly. When enter your room there's 2 small bottles of wine, which is a nice detail from the hotel.

The fee for our dog was €12.5, which was a bit expensive and a surprise, as it was not mentioned before, even when we notified the hotel we had a pet with us.
