What an excellent hotel with everything one can wish for!

As usual, everything at the Arabella were excellent and worth every cent! We will do this again very soon!

Eher 4 Sterne als 5 Sterne

Die Golfanlage war gepflegt und die Zimmer waren sehr sauber.

Die Zimmer sind ziemlich in die Jahre gekommen. Die Einbauten und alles sind sehr abgenutzt und altbacken. Das Restaurant fühlt sich an wie in den 70er Jahren. Alles ist braun und mit Teppich.Das Essen bestand aus nur 15 Gerichten, die mittags und abends genau gleich waren. Insgesamt wenig Abwechslung. Zum Zeitpunkt unserer Reise war das Hotel sehr sehr leer. Trotzdem hat der Service in der Lounge und im Restaurant ewig gedauert sodass wir teilweise lieber essen aufs Zimmer bestellt haben damit man nicht eine Stunde warten muss. Ingesamt ein ganz durchschnittliches Hotel aber definitiv nicht den Preis wert und definitiv keine 5 Sterne wert!!

Breakfast selection was excellent.

Staff didn't attend timeously to coffee requests at breakfast. Hydropool wasn't a great temperature, water felt slimey and was green in colour and contained some chemicals that didn't smell pleasant. Spa is outdated and ridiculously expensive. Activities are costly at 5 star prices, however this is a 3.5 star hotel in my humble opinion.

Great golf

Great golf course and golf staff. ‘Godwin’ barman excellent.

As my wife told the reception desk staff, they need to have more of a ‘can do’ attitude NOT ‘can’t do as hotel policy’!

Wonderful hotel overall!

Loved the location, breakfast, the spa and the general facilities. The spa staff are beyond amazing, I was absolutely impressed by how well managed it is, and how professional they are. The treatments were also phenomenal. The breakfast was great too. Great selection, fresh and well prepared.

I was disappointed in the level of staff professionalism (besides the spa), and general helpfulness for a 5-star hotel. I was stuck trying to make an additional reservation at the spa and tried to phone the reception desk for assistance and their response was simply, "keep trying to get through." Not to sound like a snob, but surely this level of hotel would have tried to get hold of the spa and return the call or make the reservation for me? We were also very disappointed in the room service - incredible bland meals (except the creme brulee - that was perfection). The cleaning staff also left much to be desired. We were left with almost no toilet paper, the bathroom wasn't cleaned properly, and we had to call reception to replenish a few items (coffee, slippers etc). I hope this is a once-off issue but unfortunately, we were disappointed for the level of the hotel.

We enjoyed the rounds of golf and venue conviences.

The convenience of the hotel and golf course.

The bedrooms and bathrooms need a thorough cleaning and less fragrance sprays to hide smells.

Upmarket quality

The sound of the waterfall is a peaceful and calming backdrop. The amenities were superb and well maintained. The venue is managed with excellent attention to professional service and a wonderful clean accommodation that is comfortable and relaxing.

That we could not stay for longer.

Fantastic stay, will be back.

The room was very spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. Quality of food was very good at the restaurant. The view from the lake view room was really awesome!

I do however feel that the restaurant staff needs more training as service was generally slow, and could be friendlier.

Excellent and will be back for longer

The restaurant and food was excellent and breakfast was lovely but a little lax on service on second morning. Overall the staff were excellent and very attentive and the manager checking if everything was ok was very good. Our suite was perfect.

Not much could be better to be honest but as mentioned breakfast on second morning we had to seek out staff and repeatedly request pot of tea which when eventually came had no milk so had to begin process again to get milk. But a small thing.

Refugium und Golfhotel mit wunderschöner Aussicht

Das Hotel hat eine schöne, offene Bauweise. Holzbalken, Stein und Glas sind die vorherrschenden Baumaterialien, was sehr harmonisch und gemütlich wirkt. Die Zimmer haben Blick auf den Golfplatz und die Lagune und das sieht sehr entspannt aus, wunderschöne ruhige Natur. Ideal für Golfer, auch in Kombination mit nicht golfenden Familienangehörigen. Kurze Wege zum Tee und Außenpool für den Rest der Familie... Wir waren zum 2. mal zu Gast und kommen bestimmt nochmal wieder!

Lovely golf resort.

Friendly and clean, with good staff. Golf course in nice condition. Restaurant good value and nice food. Lovely breakfasts. We are booked for Jan 25!

Good golf and room let down by reception

Golf course and the rooms

The reception was poor as they didn’t explain what it meant to pay as you go we thought it meant charge to your room ! Also the reception didn’t book us an evening meal which was less of a problem as they had space.

We had an amazing stay here. My partner planned sky Birthday surprises with the staff and that was just out of this worl

I liked the pool view from our room so much 👌🏾. Everyday I was taking videos of the view.

The TV in the room was too small. I mean the room is big enough for a 50” or 43”. Please consider that.

Stunning location,pity the service not supporting the location and ambience

This was my second stay at the Arabella and because I enjoyed the first visit,the previous year,I decided to extend my stay for the this holiday. Totally disappointing. Have had discussions with the General Manager and Assistant GM who were receptive to my feedback.Just a pity the holiday there was not according to 5 star standards.A supposed well deserved break not realised. I have to compliment the receptionist Lettie who checked us in. Truly customer service orientated.

our stay was relaxing, tranquil and serene.

privacy well respected - the cleaning staff like fairies. the breakfast buffet was great, the Spa staff were great and the facilities there just super. my husband found his pork belly dinner a bit fatty. The pina colada at the poolside was excellent.

hard to think of what could have been better. i suppose if there was a clear sense of whether walking the golf course was acceptable.

The stay was exactly what we needed, relaxing and beautiful.

The property itself is breathtakingly beautiful and well taken care of. The staff is incredible and makes ones stay even better. The facilities available are great too.

Some minor updates needed eg, smart tv in the room and maybe comfier pillows.

Fantastic!

From the moment you enter through the front door you are treated by friendly and competent staff. The facility exceeded all our expectations. We have been there before but every time is like the first time. Luxury, quality and class.

Nothing. We enjoyed every minute and have nothing to complain about.

We loved the peace and quiet breakaway at Arabella and hope to visit there again.

On arrival, we were welcomed at the door, desk and escorted to our room with friendly assistance. We were pleasantly surprised with the Happy Anniversary cake and champaign in our room. Throughout our stay, everyone was professional and friendly, from the lady in the Golf shop, to the employees of the Spa. When checking out the systems were down, due to the storm. This too was handled professionally. My husband and I was very impressed.

The braai buffet was definitely a disappointment. We felt that the options were too limited and for the price, we did not get the value we paid for. We expected more meat options and we were shocked to find only potato salad and fresh veg. You could and should do so much better with this. Big let-down!

Not the quality of holiday we were expecting

The room was lovely. Room service was good.

There are zero frills. You would expect more given the cost of the rooms. Cost savings all around. Even the tv channels - no proper super sport. Breakfast below average. Same from fruit served 2 days in a row. No low fat or skim milk and no effort to get some. Outside pool not available - could not even go outside. Stuck indoors.

Exceptional

Absolutely everything from the reception to the Restaurant to the Spa was Absolutely Amazing! Had the most amazing time! Thank you to everyone there. Especially Ruth from the Spa. Beautiful Location, Beautiful hotel but the food is a let down.

The location is perfect and beautiful. The rooms are large and stunning and in my opinion all hotel rooms should be of this size and quality. The pool area is in a league of its own with beautiful clear blue waters with a waterfall.

The food isn't great to be completely honest. I made an effort to try most meals on the menu from breakfast right through to dinner and I must say for such a beautiful hotel I was quite underwhelmed. Especially because other restaurants are far from this location and you're therefore forced to eat the hotel. There also aren't many activities to do, its beautiful if you plan to eat, take a walk and enjoy the hotel and your room.
