I always stay at Valley Lodge when I’m in the area, mainly because the location is so convenient. It’s close to some great restaurants, shopping and all the amenities around Kloof, Hillcrest and the surrounding areas.
The rooms are spacious and each has a small lounge area, which makes the stay feel much more comfortable than a typical hotel room. There’s secure on-site parking, and the property is gated, which is an added bonus.
The staff are always friendly, welcoming and helpful, and getting to the airport is straightforward via the M19. For me, it’s become a reliable home away from home — convenient, comfortable and well located for everything I need.
The shower over the bath made me a little nervous — it felt slippery despite the rubber mat, and the steep climb in and out of the bath felt like a bit of an expedition! And the height of the basin… was it designed by a giant? 😄
For anyone with mobility concerns, the bath setup could definitely be a little challenging.
