Clean and comfortable. Loads of parking - 4 Euros for nearly 3 days is a bargain. Really easy to get into Rotterdam too - no 32 bus, which only costs 2 euro per trip (remember to swipe on and swipe off!).
Lovely area for sitting out side too, which is very quiet. No noise from motorways, etc. Breakfast was very good too. Walk into Rotterdam would be about 45 minutes. We didn't do this as it was far too hot! Helpful staff too.
Other Van der VALK hotels have had facilities like gym, sauna, pool. This did not. Was more of a business traveller type place. Still decent, but room (223) was not as pleasant as other Van der VALK hotels we have stayed at. Possibly in need of a little bit of TLC? Don't get me wrong, this was a good stay.

overall it's a pretty much run of the mill hotel on the outskirts of the city.
a big plus is the closed off parking venue just across the street of the entrance.
Staff (other than the girl when checking out) seemed very uninterested in doing their jobs.
Especially the bar staff that was just basically standing around talking to each other rather than helping customers.
Also it's incredibly unprofessional to have staff run in and out of the kitchen to snack on food.
