About this house rental

Le Mas du Vieux Moulin is a beautifully restored 6 bedrooms / 5 bathrooms authentic dry stone house, set in un-spoilt Provence hinterland but within easy reach of the vibrant towns and beaches of the French Riviera. It boasts a beautiful 15-meter infinity pool, stunning 360 degrees views and a large private garden ensuring total privacy with the extra convenience of being within walking distance to the village. Set on a hillside with stunning panoramic views towards the valley, the mountains and the medieval village of Seillans (voted one of 20 of the most beautiful villages in France by The Guardian in April 2019), the property was originally a farmhouse. It is now a gorgeous family retreat, which comfortably accommodates 6 to 8 adults and their children. The house has been restored and furnished with attention to detail to retain its authentic charm and grace with the added comfort of air-conditioning throughout. Inside the house, the original large wooden beams have been preserved and lots of care has been put into choosing the right materials from the rustic wooden floors and shutters to the large stone tiles and spiralling stairway. Two stone terraces surround the house, one with a lounge area for relaxation, the other with a table and chairs for al fresco dining. Naturally centred around outdoor living, the property has a stunning 15-meter infinity pool set in an acre of garden planted with olive trees, lavender, sweet-smelling bushes and old pine trees. The large pool deck is equipped with sun loungers, umbrellas and a covered lounge area but guests might prefer to take a siesta in the hammock under the shade of the property’s mature trees. An invitation to unwind, provencal-style, the house also offers its own private “terrain de petanque”. The house, boasting a stunning 360-degree view, offers its guests a private hideaway in a quiet and authentic setting. It is hard to believe that one is only a few minutes walk to the village’s cobblestone streets. Provence tends to be seen as a summer destination but with its mild climate, so much to do in the area and our spacious interiors, our house is a comfortable getaway destination for friends and families at all time of year. SPECIAL RENTAL RULES: * The house is not suitable for families whose children are non-swimmers or inexperienced swimmers. * During the peak season of June to September we only accept weekly rental running from Saturday to Saturday. I cannot speak highly enough about our stay in this home in Seillans. From booking with Karine, to checking in and out with Caroline, it was perfect. Caroline was always available to answer questions and give suggestions on places to visit. We enjoyed the property and it’s quiet location. The pool was a wonderful area to relax and enjoy the beautiful views of the village. Caroline was able, ahead of time, to set us up with a wonderful Chef that was available to cook several meals for our family of 9 ( including a 3 and 7 year old). Her name is Louis and she was wonderful. We spent most of our time outside, but there is a very nice dining area inside adjacent to the kitchen. And plenty of room and comfortable furniture in the living room area. So, if you are looking for a beautiful hillside home this is the perfect place for you!

From the moment we entered the property, it was everything we hoped for and more. The home was beautifully decorated in the style of French country, with a touch of well defined contemporary and perfect in every way. The living room was spacious and seated all of us comfortably. The kitchen and dining room served us well, with all of the meals we enjoyed at home. There are plenty of outdoor seating areas on the property to enjoy alfresco dining, or just a casual glass of wine. It is absolutely necessary to rent a car, prior to your arrival, to be able to travel the French countryside and visit neighboring villages. Most of the bedrooms are on the second floor with a fabulous ascending staircase, so be mindful of that. Two of the guests were 80 and had no problem. I have nothing, but positive things to say about renting this property. The system in Seillans of disposing your garbage is an experience, so be prepared! One must pack the trunk of your car with what ever needs to be discarded and drive it down the road to the recycle/disposal bins and one by one drop the bottles into the disposal. At first we thought this is crazy compared to our system of curbside pickup, but after we accepted this to be just the way it's done, we found it a humorous experience that was one to tell the tale of. Love the home and loved the experience. It's off the beat and track from the touristy places and that worked well for us. Don't miss the neighboring wineries! The tasting is free

We had an amazing stay at the house. It was in a beautiful surrounding village with plenty to do. Cannes and Nice are not too far in the car to which we regularly visited and the property owners and staff were there if we needed anything. We will most definitely be returning, the house was absolutely beautiful and most definitely covered all our needs.

We absolutely loved Karine's property! The house is beautiful, exactly as described and just such a relaxing place to be. We travelled as a family with 3 children aged 6 and 8 and a 6 month old baby. The children room in the attic is perfect and there was everything available we needed for the baby (travel cot, baby bath, high chair etc). The communication pre-arrival was fantastic and the check in seamless. The only slight issue was that the air-conditioning did not work in one of the bedrooms, but Caroline (the manager) resolved this really efficiently, arranging for delivery of a portable AC unit. We had the most magical holiday and couldn't recommend this house enough.

Amazing property!!
Amazing property!!
Over the past many years, we have rented many homes during vacations across the US and Europe. Usually looking for higher end and larger homes to accommodate family and some friends. We have been fortunate that pretty much all homes have been excellent and at times amazing. Yet none compare to Karine’s home. It is exquisite! A place that you love the moment you arrive and find it hard to leave. It delivers comfort and luxury. As a super host, Karine was great from the start, helping us in any way we needed. Caroline who greeted us when arriving was equally great and helpful during the home walk through. Karine has an amazing gift setting up a home that feels truly luxurious yet very welcoming. That’s hard to do. We’ve been in homes that were luxurious but cold or sterile. Karine’s design details made us fell like this could be our home, and not like you’re intruding on someone else’s. Comforting and welcoming. The interior and exterior designs are stunning. Kitchen is great, with a large stove that for us as foodies was welcomed. Outdoor areas flowed well with the kitchen area, easy to walk in and out, sit in the very comfortable outdoor seating, eat at the fabulous outdoor dining. Loved the grill! We had 10 people there throughout, it never felt crowded. That flow between indoor and outdoor living takes full advantage of all the outdoor “zones” which are at multiple levels across the rolling hill, such as the play area, with ping pong table and Boules game. The infinity pool which is private with full view of the village. By the way, the views! Wow!! And, very private location while still easy walking to the village. Inside, the living room and dining area was extremely comfortable and with a (for those from the US) a Restoration Hardware like feel but better. Each bedroom unique, great bedding (slept very wee) and decor. Showers and toilets very comfortable. Washer and dryer easy to use, with an ample laundry room. Our only complaint is, a week was too short! Next time we will stay longer.

The home was lovely but we had no air conditioning for the first full week we were there. We complained to property manager upon arrival and she said she had solved problem because previous tenants had it set to HEAT. We ended up buying five fans so that we could sleep at night. When cleaning crew reported we had fans in each room the following Saturday, repairman was called and he spent four hours there and replaced a huge canister. I told Caroline upon departure that I felt we had a refund coming, but, of course, no response. House is in more remote area but it was a wonderful place to spend with nine family members. We would like to go back again in two years, but with lack of response from owner and property manager we will look elsewhere.
