Carnoustie Golf Hotel 'A Bespoke Hotel’

Impressed with spacious room and bathroom - lovely large bathsheets. Beds were very comfortable and cotton bedding crisp. Appreciated the additional seating in the room which made relaxing and watching TV much easier as well as enjoying the coffee pods provided. Breakfast was extensive, plenty of cereals, fruit and pastries to choose from as well as the cooked breakfast options. We were more than replete by what we had and would recommend.

Minor issues really. At breakfast I ordered poached eggs to follow the Alpen I was enjoying but it came too quickly as I had not finished the cereal so had to set that aside and then go back to it. Noticed another couple who had a similar experience. The toast was self-cut and toasted via conveyor belt which can be hit or miss from barely toasted to burnt.

Made to order breakfast menu was excellent.

The coffee from the self service machines was terrible and it would have been more in keeping with the standard of the hotel to have cafetières brought to the table.

Food , there was a good choice both at breakfast and dinner, all very well cooked and presented by friendly staff

Room servicing is being cut back, as in other hotels we have stayed in, but generally the level of cleanliness is still good

I opted for full Scottish. It was served promptly after ordering. Pastries and fruits were plentiful.

Bacon was very fatty and I did t like the taste of the haggis or the burger I had the night before in the bar.
