Friendly staff, good breakfast and comfortable rooms.
There is nothing in the surrounding area but it is a short taxi ride into city or a number of buses within a short walking distance including to Headingley if you here for cricket.

Cheap hotel, not far from the city centre, did the job.
We arrived a bit early hoping to either store our bags or, if a room was ready by that point, put our things away and freshen up in there. The trainee on reception informed us there were plenty of clean rooms but that there was a £10 early check in fee - this felt a bit cheap. A more experienced member of staff noticed that the trainee was preparing to take our bags to the luggage room, they asked "are there no clean rooms" and received a response about the early check in fee. The other staff member rolled their eyes and left it at that. No big deal, but did feel as if Ibis know the cost of everything and the value of nothing - this reinforced our view of Ibis being quite stingy. Separately, there is a £2 fee per bag to leave your bags after check out - again, would be free as standard at most other hotels, but that's Ibis for you.
