The breakfast offered great choice, lots of busy staff and a cracking view of the river in spate. My room was in a traditional baronial style guesthouse and although a great value snug one it still had a view of the river. The town centre was only a street away but far enough as to feel safe at the hotel and off road parking was a comforting extra worth paying for. All in all a premium experience for less than the travel lodge wanted. Shower was good, the bed was great and there was even hot chocolate in the room beverage selection!
English mustard would have gone well with those delicious Scottish sausages, but really I’m just finding something to say.

Location was amazing. It was close to tourist attractions, restaurants, and shopping. The brewery tour was great as well.
Strict check in policy was a pain, but they did store bags. Gave us walker cookies for the first two days and then stopped on the third. Having a fridge in the room would have been nice.

Old furnishings, tired carpets. misleading photos and write up. Overpriced.
Very average breakfast - poor fruit selection.
