Look you get what you pay for. This is probably the cheapest place at last minute in the Oxford area, so you are paying for convenience and the basics. Also people need to lighten up and find charm in the naff, keep inn mind the majority of these negative reviews are from people like myself. Being cheap and expecting the Ritz. Just get there, drop your things off and use it as a facility for sleeping its all good. Will stay again when I get the chance.

Friendly staff and wonderful service. The room was clean and comfortable to stay in. We enjoyed our time at the Athena Guest House and would recommend it to anyone who visited Oxford!

It was clean and the bathroom and shower were excellent. Unusual to have a Japanese style toilet. Close to the bard and restaurants.
The decor needed a bit of TLC. The front aspect of the building looks a little rundown.
