Comfortable room but noisy, location excellent.

Location was great, surroundings were lovely. The fish and chips were particularly good and drinks were very reasonably priced.

Noise in the room initially from chairs scraping over the floor in the bar which was directly above our room, but then at 11.30 ish a VERY loud argument between a couple with lots of shouting and swearing disturbed us again 🙄 The argument wasn’t as bad tho as having to hear the “making up” afterwards! 😳. Better sound insulation would have helped in both cases 👍👍

If I could give this place 0 points I would. Non existent communication not responding on the telephone when trying to arrange check in, as a result we were left locked outside, wasted £70, and had to book a premier inn which is where I will be booking from now on. I do NOT recommend this place.

Great setting and incredibly clean accommodation

room too warm , didn’t realise underfloor heating and towel rail were on .

reasonable short stay

Nice aspect over the golf course and tucked under the bar terrace

The window blinds were very dusty, the tv remote was very dusty, there was limited phone signal or wifi in the room

Small room but comfy.

Comfy bed. Small room but laid out well. Great shower.

Lots of cobwebs on ceiling above bed. I removed myself. Been there a while. Bit of a sewage smell when I first got in the room. Seemed to be coming from the bathroom. Pulled toilet chain, sprayed a bit of my perfume and left extractor fan on. Did die down but not completely. Nice long low shelf with tea facilities & chair opposite bed, but no mirror. You have to stand in the small hallway to the bathroom to do hair etc. Not ideal.

Quick overnight

Clean, tidy and friendly in a decent location. Small breakfast menu but very tasty.

There was an emergency exit sign in the room so the room was permanently bathed in green light. Fortunately I had an eye mask with me.

great bar area and facility’s.

steps and slopes in and out of the bar area and to the rooms had not been de iced or treated. This was very slippery and dangerous especially for our disabled companion.

Could be better

The room was nice but no spare blanket it was very cold the heating went off and no controls!

We had our Christmas do the food was cold the room we were in was freezing and most ppl left early because of it.

The View of the golf course.

The staff were rude and not helpful. Our room was damp, we both woke up feeling rough. Music in the restaurant was so loud we had to shout across the table and then it was pounding through our room until late. The fire alarm went off for ages at 1am. There were no staff around in the morning to complain to.

Superb

We stayed at The View for an event at the nearby Hatfield House and so only needed overnight accommodation. The twin room was spotlessly clean and the facilities were good. The room overlooked the golf course and was very quiet. Breakfast wasn’t included in the price, but we paid for breakfast which was good. The atmosphere was relaxed but efficient. I would be happy to stay at The View again.

Great value for where we needed to get to in London and we were driving so easy enough to get too. The beds were really comfortable as well.

The staff that checked us in we’re great and we’re really helpful, but it’s a shame that the team in the morning weren’t quite so helpful and almost rude and unorganised - we had paid upfront online for the room and was asked on multiple occasions to confirm this, even when leaving they asked us to stay and wait while it was confirmed - again. We thought we had booked breakfast via booking.com and the manner in dealing with this when they decided we hadn’t, was so unprofessional and almost uncomfortable after waiting for a member of the team for quite a while to be served. Room didn’t have hand soap provided for the toilet which is a big no for me, thank goodness we carry hand gel now! The fan in the bathroom was also unbearably loud. It also wasn’t set up for two people, I.e complimentary drinks/towels, even though I had to fill out who was staying in the twin room. We had such a great memorable weekend and it’s a shame that this is what we remember as part of it. Maybe I’m not used to prices in the south but for the price of the room we expected at least a normal service.

The View

Washroom door lock doesnt work, it should be checked and maintained properly. Also the entrance and and exit system is not so easy. its something complicated and with big luggage, its real problem.

Location perfect, Manager and staff excellent. Professional, friendly, and very accommodating, nothing was to much trouble. Good amount of tea/coffee, towels and bathroom products. Thank you.

No vanity mirror above where the dressing table/shelf was situated.

View of golf course beats a city, plus nice and quiet. Having netflix and catch-up TV was great for chilling one exhausted evening!
