Air con didn’t work, shower leaked, the furniture was old and tatty with holes in the curtains and it was dangerous for my toddler with plug sockets/extension lead on the floor - I stayed one night then left - would never recommend

Very poor value, I regret every cent spent there.

Location was perfect, only 5 mins away from the beach.

ROOMS HAVE NO FRIGOBAR! After booking the hotel I realised that their check-in was at 4pm and we had a very early flight, estimating to arrive at Monte Gordo at 12. I wrote to the hotel mentioning that I was travelling with a child and 2 elderly people, asking if it would be possible to check-in a little earlier. Their reply was non-commital ("depends on the availability"), but we decided to go ahead. We arrived at 1pm with the intention of asking them to store our luggage while we went for lunch. The first sentence the recepcionist said to me was "The check-in opens at 4pm", before I even opened my mouth. Straight on rude. The rooms a good size, but everything is old and chipped. THERE WAS NO FRIGOBAR! We spent 11 nights there drinking tepid water. There were only 2 plugs - both with very old bedside lamps, only one of which could actually be unplugged. The shower broke after the first use and had to be replaced. Every time the neighbour room flushed, a horrible smell would come up the pipes and don't get me started on the quality (or lack thereof) of the toilet paper. A/C very old, very noisy and I found spiders on my bed. Drawers in wardrobe are either too shallow of falling on top of each other. Hangers are very high (my mother could not reach them). On our floor only the button to go down on the lift worked. Breakfast was sufferable - possibly the the only half decent thing there. The pool is very small and inacessible for elderly people because it has very narrow steps to get it. The pool was supposed to open at 9am but it only opened at 10 and pool toilets were locked until 11 (generally 11:15) when pool bar opened - you actually had ask for the key for the toilet. The shower beside the pool is a joke, with water dripping sadly from it. Overall, Booking should remove this hotel from its site.

Rude staff

Comfortable enough

Cleaning lady was extremely rude. Came at 10:30 to clean the room despite the checkout being at 12 (you should give her a list of rooms that need cleaning that early) then even though I told her I’m checking out at 12 she comes back at 11:30 and walks in without knocking. No apology, just annoyed that she couldn’t clean earlier. I know you have deadlines but have a better system so people don’t leave annoyed cause of her shocking attitude.

The breakfasts and evening meals were very good quality. The roof pool and bar was most welcome in the heat.

The balconies could do with a bit of smartening up.

Lovely Hotel

Staff were welcoming, friendly, hospitable and very accommodating. The hotel is in a great location, only a short walk to the beach (less than 5 minutes) with an array of restaurants nearby to choose from. The rooftop pool and bar are a lovely addition to the facilities available at the hotel.

My room smelt of smoke and as a non-smoker, I found it unpleasant.

Loved the location and experience

Everything was wonderful, the location was perfect, could see the ocean from the balcony. Great breakfast buffet. Near all the restaurants.

The only real issue was parking. I can't imagine how difficult it would be in full season.

Pleasant

Friendly staff was always there ready to help with everything

The room we were given wasn't really adequate Balcony was very small and there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room or no fridge. The air conditioning system hadn't been cleaned for god knows how long...was full of dust. The toilet was half way under the sink...and no air vent in the bathroom so was a pungent sewage smell...asked to change room but was denied...

It is okay for a couple days but not for a long stay.

Breakfast was well organized. TV had many channels. Wifi was good. Location was excellent, only a block from beach.

Room was very small with no kettle or coffee making essentials. There were two sockets in the room behind the bed used for lamps. Otherwise, there were no sockets to plug in electronic devices for recharging. Aside from a stool, there was no chair with a back to sit on, so had to sit on bed.

The Location was perfect. I have difficulty walking and everything I wanted was close enough, beach, restaurants, cool buildings. The staff were excellent and went beyond to be helpful and friendly. The meals were delicious and lots of choice. Superb! The atmosphere was great especially appreciated the effort everyone made to make Valentine's Day special even for myself who was travelling alone. Thanks so much!!!

Clean and comfortable room. The breakfast was also very good. My stay was quite short so could appreciate all the hotel had to offer. Great value for money.

Products to clean the tables, at breakfast, were not the ideal stuff.. Some of the staff at breakfast were in a big hurry, as 10:30h approached :)
