Excellent

Place is amazing. Hotel is very good, personel is awesome. Views are the best. Food is tasty, everywhere is clean. I wish I come back to Pestana Viking one day!

Very good

This hotel is perfect for a wedding . The sea views are amazing. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The pool area was lovely. Lots of space around the pool to relax. Ubers available to get from hotel to supermarket. Kids pool and kids club are great.The woman who works in the kids club was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good with lots of options and the coffee was nice. Hotel room and balcony were very nice A staff member helped us bring our bags from the taxi to our room. This was very helpful with kids and lots of bags. We were allowed to check in an hour early. Again, this was helpful with kids.

Accessibility - We had a big buggy for 2 kids and it was hard to access level 1 where the pool and restaurant are. There are steps down. There is a wheelchair lift but our buggy was too wide to fit. The only way we could access the pool/ restaurant area was for my husband to lift the buggy down the steps. I wasn't able to do this on my own. Proper lift access is needed. Al la carte dinner option would have suited us better with more vegetarian/ vegan options. The allergens were not clearly labelled on the menu. We found the dinner options very limiting. 30 euro for a themed buffet was the only option. We requested baby high chairs for our room and this was not facilitated. This is normally not a problem in other hotels. This is very important when feeding babies. It made the trip a bit harder for us.

Disappointing

Location Walking distance to a nice beach.

Room AC goes off when you leave..come back to a boiling hot room. Room amenities are substandard. The towel change schedule is restrictive for no reason but to be cheap. Don't prepay for your dinning (I was overcharged), would have been better to pay as I went. Expect to pay 5€ for water.

Good

The location was exceptional, atop a cliff with great view. The hotel arranged for us a great boat ride to see the caves. Loved the Buffett.

Parking is a nightmare. People seem to park where ever the vehicle fits; on sidewalks, fields, bushes. The entrance to the hotel is a bottleneck, waiting for an accident to happen.

Appreciate your staff. They are great

We ware last year for 1 night, and we decide so stay this year for longer based on the view, extremely friendly Rui and the spa/ wellness as we used the treatment last year and this year. We also have to mention the guy in the shop, Saquib, Heider and receptionist that great us at the start. Rui is a star and legend , but all staff is extremely friendly. Thank you

We used only breakfast and we are more than happy with it, however for any other meal we went out as quality and price is not something we liked. Burger or pizza even in pool bar we can have any ware. It's probably only a personal choice but we love to explore local cousin.

Pleasant

Breakfast was varied but hot items not very hot. coffee machines server barely warm drink. Gym was only open 8-8 but not supervised so why not open it earlier

Very good

Loved the breakfast. The ingredients - bread, cheese, vegetables were excellent. Pan cakes were ok. Its open till 11 - which is great. Coffee is excellent. There are two pool and lots of beach chairs to sit around. the view from there is excellent. The place was full but nothing was crowded. I loved the place , the gym is good, I did yoga on the grass and swam a lot in the indoor pool. The sea was too cold to swim in April, but that did not stop us from enjoying the place. There is a kitchenette in the room, buy water, drinks etc from mini mart which is close by. We rented a car as we were 5 and it was working out cheaper than taxi to come here, There is no parking in the hotel but at this time, It was not hard to find parking on the street.

It is not very clear which rooms are sea view and which are side sea view. We payed extra for sea view, but our rooms looked like the side sea view property pictures on booking.com. The reception convinced us that those were the sea view but we are not so sure. The room still had a good view. Just book the side sea view for less cost , dont bother booking sea view. some people complained about the beds. I think the quality of beds were a very big issue for some people.

Superb

Loved the breakfast buffet. The staff were friendly and good humoured. I was there for my nieces wedding. The wedding planner was terrible. None of us knew what was going on. No one received an advance outline itinerary even. The family group dudnt knew where to congregate and wait before hand. The wedding was at 3.30. She, the wedding planner, didnt even check in with the bride and her bridemaids until 3.15. My brother, the brides father was supposed to be walking the bride down the aisle, the wedding planner had to be told to go and get him, as she had overlooked this too. The music system hadnt even been pre tested and then all was delayed further as they couldn't get to it work. So she had no music to walk down the aisle to. The microphone was sending feedback so had to be discarded, so no one could hear what was being said through the ceremony. The location was lovely.

The mattresses need to be renewed Much too hard. A hotels core product is a bed. They have to be much better.

Some of the staff were rude over a confusion over a good order. we knew we had ordered correctly and was willing to put it down to miscommunication but this one staff member was insistent we were wrong and came to shout at us. It wasn't the best way to handle the situation

Some of the staff were great. Our breakfast lady was fantastic & generally the breakfast staff were good. Breakfast had a hreat variety of food.

The rooms need sprucing up, they were tired & in need of a paint job. The cleaning was non existant, vents were full of dust, scuff marks along the walls & there was no tea & coffee in the room. Some of tbe desk staff were not very helpful. It was just not good value for money & the hotel appeared to be put out by any requests made.

Breakfast was great. The staff are all very warm and friendly. Pool area is well designed lots of sun loungers but alos lots of space. Really nice beaches close by.

Great except for the bed bugs on sofa bed

The sofa bed that my father slept in had bed bugs which left him with a lot of itchy marks on his body. The hotel supplied an extra bunk bed which was good. Bed bugs in the sofa bed is not acceptable.
