lovely hotel and staff, the food was very nice and plenty ,rooms spacious and really comfortable beds
there were nothing we didn’t like but if i had to pick something i would say maybe a couple more electrical sockets

We were moved from Ramada to Hotel Kompas (sister hotel, apologies, as our booking was with Ramada we can only review on this listing) due to an overbooking issue, but this was not a problem as the properties are next to each other and use of facilities is shared.
All staff were very friendly, we were checked out by the Manager of Hotel Kompas (I don't remember her name, sorry!) but she was very helpful to us and the lady in front of us who needed assistance. There is a pool, sauna and games room facility on the premises but we didn't get to use them. Parking was easy and safe in a controlled lot, you register your plate upon arrival and the gates open for you. The hotel was clearly very busy but the rooms were quiet.
The room was large and comfortable, with a mini fridge which was useful for drinks and snacks.
The location was great for exploring the town, with many restaurants close by to walk to, and a large supermarket very close. We also took the free bus to Vrisic Pass from the Park and Ride which is outside Kompas (if you are getting the bus, I recommend getting on at this stop, as it is the start of the route and the bus can fill up very quickly at the second stop).
The breakfast was ok, the food was not the hottest but the little robot plate clearers are cute.
The bathrooms are a bit dated and our shower was not the cleanest (hair from previous guest) but not terrible, these things happen. We did not mention it to staff but I know that if we had, they would have fixed it.

Location & staffs were good! Rooms were spacious.
There was no air-conditioning in the rooms. The cleaning of the rooms were also not done regularly despite letting them know of it.

Location very convenient, walk to restaurants. Easy free parking. Price fair, we chose to save money and forego having pool or spa facilities. Breakfast buffet large and included. Balcony with mountain view was good to have, but it is behind concrete, sort of boxed in. Staff was accommodating. Convenient having a bar/cafe attached with an impressive wine list.
This hotel has no air conditioning! We missed this detail until too late. It was 90 degrees out, all week, in May. The staff brought us a fan upon request which helped, and we slept with doors open and overnight it was much cooler.
There are no outlets by the beds, only 2 outlets in room, one was used for the fan, was hard to charge our devices and use CPAP.
We asked the night before where to go to make our coffee/tea in the AM which we brought with us, just needed mugs and kettle, they told us in the restaurant room. But the hotel staff at restaurant (same guy as at desk night before) strictly did not allow us to bring in our own oatmilk, bottle of water, coffee/tea, very strange. We were then told to go to front desk and ask for a kettle for the room. Probably a language barrier, it arrived at the room in just a few minutes, would have been nice to just get it the night before when we asked.
