Great location but could be a lot better

Superb location. Parking on site

It looks very dated. The walls are paper thin! The main bar area is grim which is a shame because the seating area outside on the river bank is lovely

Suited our needs perfectly.

Perfect location for our short stay in Kilkenny. The room was a good size, bathroom was spotless and the breakfast was excellent. Staff were helpful - we needed a room to change in before the check-in time as we had travelled for a wedding and they made sure we were looked after.

Enjoyable, staff were lovely

Staff were excellent , I believe the hotel is undergoing renovations which it will really benefit from.

Bed in disabled room was very small 245 in comparison to 203 where my sister stayed. Carpets were very stained.

Very nice riverfront hotel in the heart of Kilkenny

Great riverfront location close to the town center, friendly staff, clean quiet and comfortable room

A Day in Beautiful Kilkenny

The location was perfect. View from the room balcony facing castle and the river was fantastic. Parking was available but with struggle. The town was beautiful. Friendly staff at reception and restaurant.

The hotel was old and the room was showing that. I found the price per night way too expensive for what I've got. Probably they charge a lot for the view.

Entering the car park we drive a 7 seater and it was very tight to turn in off the road coming from the left To leave the hotel to exit to walk around the gate out by the river was locked so we had to walk out by car park barrier

it’s an old hotel and needs a bit of updating. The rooms were clean. The corridor outside our room had a v bad musty smell.

Great location - we could walk everywhere! staff were so helpful and friendly. Good vegan options at breakfast including vegan sausages and hash browns.

pillows weren’t the most comfy. overall the bedrooms didn’t feel 4 star

Fantasic visit from Staffordshire

The location is perfect,right in the city. The staff are professional and friendly. Great value for money . The breakfast was sublime. All freshly cooked..croissants and pain au chocolat were so fresh and the sausages were amazing

The decor is a little bit jaded and could use a spruce up. Some of the furniture is abit old.

we loved how close it was to everything and the general vibe. staff were really nice

on the second day we expected our room to be cleaned when we got back around 3pm. we got back and a lady knocked to clean the room around 4 and we expected new bedding etc but it was not provided . just fresh towels

Location, Comfort and Affordable

The location couldn't be beat. Ten minute walk to the train station and less than that to where all the action is. The beds are comfortable and clean and the breakfast was fantastic. Would book again

The fan made a little noise but nothing that affected my time there or was worth complaining about.

Absolutely incredible staff

Stayed here for the October Bank Holiday as a girly get away. Location is amazing in the centre of kilkenny, within walking distance of everywhere from shopping to nightlife. Have to say the highlight was meeting the beautiful night porter Lucy Wallace, she was an absolute angel to us. Really stood out as an expectional individual so helpful, friendly, kind and understanding while being very cheerful. The security man on the door, Andrew Turner was outstanding, very professional, helpful, genuine and responsible. The night manager was also amazing although I can't remember his name. These individuals really stood out due to their superb manner in dealing with hotel guests even in the late hours. Nothing was too much for them and everything was done smoothly, professionally, with a great attitude and smile. The day staff too were lovely and the breakfast was delicious, loved the big thick rashers. We requested a fridge and it was in place on arrival, there was a fan in the room which i think is very important. Beds were very comfortable and the room was very clean and I'm very fussy. Was delighted with the hotel experience. It really is the staff that made it a 5 star experience for us. Can't wait to come back
