Fabulous location, great pool, cafe and restaurant on premises, proximity to ein gedi hiking, great breakfast and pleasant staff. Comfy beds.

A beautiful Kibbutz in a stunning location - breathtaking views and excellent food.

The Ein Gedi Kibbutz sets on a hillside overlooking the Dead Sea. We stayed here because of the proximity to Masada and the Dead Sea, both of which we were able to enjoy from this place. The entry is gated and staffed, we were greeted warmly at the gate and the front desk. We checked in effortlessly and found our rooms easily. The grounds are very beautiful and well maintained. The pool area was a big attraction for me when booking this location and I was a little disappointed when I was informed that the pool closed at 5pm, with so much light left in the day! Nevertheless, I was able to enjoy the cool pool (it was April 2nd after all) for about 30 minutes before it closed. That night, we enjoyed wine on the porches looking out over the Dead Sea, very special. Dinner in the cafeteria was very high quality with many delicious choices but was also very expensive at $30 US per person with a discount and no VAT. Likely worth it and I'm not sure there are any alternatives - perhaps the market? Breakfast at the cafeteria was included in the room rate and was also amazing! Overall I will look forward to staying here again should I ever be lucky enough to return to Israel.

Great location - but don’t book standard room

the location is great, beautiful gardens surrounded by desert. breakfast was very rich in variety and tasty. bed was comfortable.

we feel like we haven’t been informed properly. if you book a standard room, the hotel makes you feel like you are second class - you have to pay extra for mostly all activities offered and also to enter the spa (50 NIS per person), you don’t get a bath robe etc. if we would have known that beforehand, we would have just booked a premium room. all in all the experience was good but the hotel should really get an update, everything looks aged and especially the spa which is overall nice has showers in the women’s changing room that I honestly was disguised by it.

An oasis in the desert

Ein Gedi ist a perfekt place for a few days of calmness and nature. The facilities are clean, comfortable, the halfboard option ist great, so is the food. The botanical garden you basically are settled in during your stay is surrounding you, it's just a piece of paradise. We could make short trips to either Masada, an interesting historical place or hike in the Wadi David where the nature reserve is located, and of course go dip in the Dead Sea. The hotel itself is simple but great.

The entrance to the spa is only above 16 years of age, so we couldn't organise it to visit the spa with our daughter who is younger and was looking forward to it. ..

Heaven on Earth

We loved the view from our balcony room into the valley below. Buffet breakfast and dinner. Beautiful and manicured gardens that had information next to them.
