Splendid location, pleasant and helpful staff (when you could find them), funky decor, but acceptable; everything worked! "Continental breakfast" was okay on the day we took it but the "honesty bar" could be better stocked. The City Rembrandt is more like a well-run guest house than a hotel.
Our room was large enough but overpriced and the balcony was oversold - useless, not only because of the tropical heat during our stay (not the management's fault of course), but because it overlooked an uninspiring view of backs of houses, metal chimney flues, and what appeared to be a building site extension. One of our friends was staying in an adjacent single room for half the price, but even that was excessive for what was almost literally a shoebox, and she had to use our safe for her valuables as hers was too small for a computer and iPad.
