Hotel Eden

Its location : a short walk to the beach, its quietness and cleanliness

Our room was fairly hot in the afternoon but this is an exceptionally hot summer ; the rooms are fairly small (not a bother for us but might be an inconvenience for some)

Nice simple hotel with everything what we needed. Lovely owners who were very friendly and helpful

The breakfast was excellent. The garden provided a lovely place to sit in either shade or sun. Best of all were the proprietors who were always very helpful, efficient, welcoming, happy and pleasant.

Comfortable bed, clean room, and a nice view over the courtyard. No air conditioning means the room can get hot, but a column fan is provided and cooled the room adequately.

There is no access to the lobby between 11 AM and 3:30 PM (while the owners perform housekeeping) except by keycard and this isn't mentioned anywhere on the website or during the booking process. If you come to check in between these times, you'll be stuck wandering around outside or at a restaurant with your luggage until 3:30. Not knowing this made for a really unpleasant start to the trip. The price was too steep for no beach views or direct access (it's about 200 meters from the beach, not 100 as stated). There's no elevator and stairs to the rooms are winding and rather steep. Front desk staff are kind but can be a little terse. The hotel seem understaffed. Hallway lights are off by default and must be turned on by operating switches, which turn off after about 20 seconds. I don't mind this, as it's a good energy-saving measure, but the halls are pitch black once the lights go off and hazardous. It would be a good idea to switch to motion-operated lighting in this area. The shower took a long time to heat up, and after use would start to drip noisily during the night without warning, even with the taps firmly turned off. Sadly, the hotel has begun using AI-generated garbage graphics on its business cards, door hangers, and in the rooms - the wall behind my bed was covered with a gigantic ugly decal that was clearly a generated fake image. A photo print, hanging framed (real) picture, or even a blank wall would have been preferable. It wrecked the atmosphere and put a sour taste in my mouth every time I saw it.
