A friendly, homely place where the staff make you feel welcome. My room had great views over the roofs and Mt Rigi in one corner, and I watched the stars at night, very distinct in the clear air. Breakfast was impressive, with lots of choice. The location was semi-rural, with cows and their bells making their presence known by the railway station. Pure heaven! Very convenient and easy to get to from Luzern. On the second night there was an unexpected stampede by a herd of 'wilderbeest' - which sounded like the arrival of a group of overexcited students. I did not mind as I had ear plugs with me, and fell asleep in no time.
I love old dark chalet wood and my floor was filled with it. However, the ground floor had been refurbished and the breakfast room had more of a modern rustic feel to it. But this is my personal taste and many people probably prefer it that way.

Nice exteriors. Swiss traditional style.
Floors creaking, you could hear the others move about the hotel. Very rustic atmosphere, high price for the room. Close to the street so you could hear cars passing. Not a good choice for a work trip.
