A great spot, located 10 minutes walk from Barrio Italia, Bella Vista and Lastarria and 5 mins walk from the Metro. Helpful staffing and security 24 hours, with good rooms and facilities and nice communal areas for breakfast and a little kitchenette to prepare hot drinks or simple meals. Nice to be in a hotel/hostal with local as well as international guests. Breakfast was good (worth noting that there weren’t many breakfast options nearby if you chose not to have breakfast at the Hostal).
The squeaky floors may be off-putting for light sleepers but were not really an issue for us.

Without a doubt, this is the best hostel I've ever stayed in. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcome. The staff were incredibly kind, friendly, and always willing to help. The location is excellent for exploring Santiago, the room was spotless and comfortable, and the whole place has a warm, relaxed atmosphere that makes you feel at home. Everything exceeded my expectations, and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better stay. I would recommend Hostal Río Amazonas to anyone visiting Santiago and would love to stay here again.

Excellent location & 5’ walk to main train station, restaurants & cafes. 24/7 reception. Heating & Smart TV. Daily service of rooms. Staff very helpful and can provide metro card. On site restaurant & bar.
So unfortunate because everything else was terrific but my downstairs room experienced disturbing noise from guests walking around on the timber floor in the room above, and on one morning was woken very early. I was offered a room change however declined because of having to pack up my things.
