Lovely old building, tastefully decorated with a suit of armour in the stairwell.
Bathroom was a little dirty on arrival (lots of hairs on floor)

Welcoming staff, comfortable room

The venue is set up for functions and weddings - staying midweek it was very quiet. The grounds are pleasant and the interior bar and breakfast rooms are comfortable. The room was fine if a little worn. Quiet away from the main road down a slightly uneven track. Good if you need to be in the area the next day although little going on if there is no event in the hotel itself.
Breakfast started at 7 and the staff were only evident from 7.15 - which makes an early start a bit difficult if you need to get somewhere.

Good location. Friendly staff.
The hotel and our room was bitterly cold. Twice we mentioned it at reception and was told it may have been switched off and then it operated on a thermostat. My husband was a heating engineer and knows full well how radiators work!!!! Also there was no mention of the events on both days and only breakfast was available.
