Hotel Wroxham

The room was ok, bed comfy but the bathroom was so tiny and the shower was awful. If you were about a size 6 and 4 feet tall you’d be fine but you could not move to bend to wash properly , I have never seen a shower so small.

We ate in the restaurant both nights, the first night the fish and chips were excellent. The second night my husband chose from the ‘Special ‘ menu, Beef bourginon pie. It stated it came with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables priced at £29 . We felt it was a little pricey for a pie but everything else was much more expensive, not that we couldn’t afford it but the prices seemed way over the top. Well the pie arrived, you couldn’t see the mashed potatoes, apparently the pie was sitting on them and the seasonal vegetables looked like tender stem broccoli and that was it. You needed a hammer and chisel to cut the pastry on the pie which was so thick and you could hardly see any meat in the pie so yes it was very very overly priced and not really at all enjoyable. Also we wer there for a special birthday and was presented with a plate which had Happy Birthday written on it and in the corner just a blob of cream with a raspberry and blueberry placed in it. !!!

Comfortable room, very clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Very good choice at breakfast & cooked breakfast was delicious.

The location is superb, right in the heart of wroxham with free parking. Balcony rooms are a good size and offer a great view over the river, perfect for watching the boats. Breakfast was excellent, the staff member on breakfast duty was really helpful.

All.guest rooms upstairs, stairs access only and poor handrails. Often difficult during the day to find a seat in the inside lounge as open to non residents and obviously very popular. The only seating area always available is in the reception area which is very dark, felt "cluttered" with no view. Staffing low, reception frequently unmanned, although Midweekstaff were helpful when present. Issue with bathroom floor being very slippy in bare feet. Didn't feel the concern raised was taken seriously. To anyone stopping in Ranworth suite you may need to be aware.
