The property is a wonderfully charming and characteristic place. You get a real sense of history. The rooms are comfortable. I had a superior suite on one day and a single room on the other. Both were roomy and very comfortable. The location is perfect for visiting Arundel. If you are coming for cricket the walk is 10 mins to the Castle ground (albeit uphill!). There are loads of restaurants and cafes within 100m of the hotel.
Being hyper critical - the property is a bit tired in places. But it is 300 years old and it all adds to the charm.

Staff need to speak up and be more helpful and a smile would be nice
Male member of staff came to help with tv and he also served breakfast, no personality, quite snobby not good in any way , he acted like he was doing us a favour not good for the hotels

Historic building in prime location.
We returned to this hotel to reminisce after 35 years although the building is charming it is clearly in need of refurbishing and updating.
Unfortunately we were allocated in the annexe building which lacks the history of the main house.
The breakfast was ok but carried an extra charge.
