Holiday Inn Express Stafford by IHG

Everything was just perfect. I asked if i could be accommodated on the ground floor, as being in the older age group lower level is easier for shuffling about. Despite being close to the M6 and associated noise that goes with that, once the double glazed window was shut, the noise was hardly noticeable. This might be different during the summer months if there's no aircon and the window is opened for air, which I didn't seek or check out, as not required in the cooler September night I stayed. Stuart booked me in and was really helpful, pointed out the car registration process at reception.

Well everything really was just fine, including the lady heading the breakfast that morning 14/9/26 who was engaging and helpful. The only thing I would note, is although the business has to budget the cost of providing a breakfast selection and that is clearly calculated by someone in HIE accounts UK. Stafford is pretty much 'Up North' as the expression goes, and personally although hash browns are very nice, I would ditch them from the menu and put in Black Pudding instead. Where I was heading later that morning to the family homelands of Cumbria (truly up north), black pudding absent from the breakfast option would raise many an eyebrow.

Breakfast is more than ample. Plenty of choice, plenty to eat. Coffee was the only disappointment and that's being a bit picky.

After a long journey it is easy to pull off the motorway - northbound or southbound - and you're there. Plenty of parking. Pub/restaurant a two minute walk away. Then just as easy to get back on the motorway in the morning. Ideal.

Good location, Clean, Nice breakfast

There is peeling paint on the floor of the shower cubicle, which might create a sharp surface and poses a risk of cutting guests' feet. I strongly suggest repairing it as soon as possible to avoid any injury
