En route to Whitstable and a fellow on reception recommended a place to eat which was superb.
Didn't like that we couldn't stay longer....!

The hotel itself is beautiful, with so much character. It feels quaint, cosy and welcoming, and our room was very comfortable. The children loved exploring the grounds, which was a lovely part of our stay.
Breakfast was a real highlight. The service was excellent, with staff who were attentive, friendly and professional throughout.
Unfortunately, the room didn’t have air conditioning and became quite warm. The hotel did offer us a second fan, which we appreciated, but air conditioning would have made the room much more comfortable.
The spa was also quite minimal compared with what we had expected. The most disappointing part, however, was the reception at the spa. We didn’t feel particularly welcomed, and at times the member of staff didn’t even look up when we approached the desk. It was a shame, especially as the service elsewhere in the hotel, particularly at breakfast, was so good.

Room was spacious.
We had booked for our 15th Wedding Anniversary. My wife tried to book a treatment - no treatments available and the staff were not helpful. However, the most disappointing point was the food. The cod was not fit for serving, it was off. The breakfast, we both ordered salmon and scrambled eggs - unfortunately the eggs were not fresh - they were very cold and crispy. Certainly not worth paying £290 for the evening.
