It was a comfortable night stay. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean. Good shower once you figured out the pressure and the temperature as it took a bit to get the warm water! Decent full Scottish breakfast. My dog got two sausages, so she was in her element.

Check-in wasn’t smooth. Staff member seemed to get herself into a state of confusion over the booking payment. In that state, she didn’t give us a separate key card for the side door, which we needed to off load the bags and dog crate rather than hiking it through the middle of the hotel. We weren’t told when check out was nor what time Breakfast was - things we found out ourselves. Stood around reception for 10 minutes waiting for someone to help us sort the key cards as the first staff member seemed to have disappeared for the weekend. Felt invisible as staff ran around flustered meanwhile standing at reception. Check-out was much better - young man sorted the payment, he was very helpful - there was no issue on my end, the first staff member maybe needs re-training in the booking.com payment process. It’s not the sort of thing that gets your stay off to a good start or the lack of basic information (breakfast times, check-out, etc) given. Looking at the outside of the garden room building- the wooden patios and chairs need some care as does the back of the building.

The staff were very helpful. The decor was good- it worked well. Food was excellent. Good use of space.

After being seated for breakfast, we then had to wait over an hour for our order to be taken. It really set us back with our plans for the day!
