Hotel Ringkøbing

This is a wonderful historic hotel in the heart of Ringkøbing, right on the town square. We enjoyed the history of the place, walking the area, and had a fabulous dinner at the hotel’s restaurant (our server was wonderful and gave us much advice and conversation, all while handing the busy restaurant with ease!) We would give a higher rating but a couple issues required lowering the score (see below). We would still recommend this lovely hotel and would stay again.

We booked and paid for a room with “city view” but were given a room with no view - the window looked out to brick walls within a small dark enclosure. The lady at the desk said it was because we booked through Booking.com, and did not adjust the cost (we’ve received similar treatment from a few other places in the past; inferior service because they offer through Booking.com). The room also did not have a kettle as per the listing. The lady at the desk did, however, provide a very nice coffee service (for reasonable cost) that I brought up to our room (and it was great coffee). These shortcomings lowered an otherwise wonderful stay in a great hotel.

The breakfast was excellent and we enjoyed the atmosphere. We loved the fact that the building was 400 years old, but it was in such wonderful condition. It was a great memorable experience. The staff was very friendly.

Basic rooms no kettle for tea/coffee

Centrally located, quiet.Staff were very helpful .

the bathroom and common areas weren’t clean.Coffee had been split in the hallway and was still there three days later. During high wind the verandah door wouldn’t stay closed which was a bit frightening in the middle of the night when it flew open. I knew it didn’t have a lift but four floors up was a struggle with a suitcase.
