Good location for town centre, walks and routes out of Bakewell. The female member of staff who welcomed us and served at a breakfast was excellent.
The shower over the bath arrangement was a bit cramped. The toilet seat was loose. The non-cooked breakfast options were limited and largely sugar-heavy. The toaster took forever to make toast.

Quite a busy road so you do get a lot of noise. Also there were so building works going on in the bar quite late so some noise. Room could do with a freshen up.

Lovely old building in a beautiful Peak District town.
The quality of the breakfasts were a bit hit and miss depending on the chef.
I had intended to invite a group of friends for a meal there during my stay, but after sampling the food I decided against it.
Bedroom door lock was tricky, and I was unsure about the cleanliness of the bath with black marks around it.

Beautifully clean. Bed comfortable. New and modern bathroom. Just spent one night as touring the area. Car park was a plus. Heating was available if needed and did get used because of cold tiled flooring.
I asked for a ground floor location due to difficulty with stairs and this was supplied. The only problem was that the room seemed to have been built from a storage area at the back with wooden front which did not keep out any noise from the busy road six feet away. It was like we were in a garage. For £139 with no breakfast the price paid to sleep in what had been converted from a garage was extortionate.
