The beds were comfortable and it was nice and spacious. It was right in the centre of town with parking
The bathroom needed some TLC. It wouldn’t take much to paint it and remove and replace the sealant around the bath with mould in it

Location is perfect for walking to shops or for longer walks. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Free car park on site.

The welcome by the bar staff was excellent. Everything was explained, and the briefing included information about breakfast timings, and when the kitchen closed that evening, should we wanted to eat there.
We eat there in the evening and I have to say the food, for a pub, was very good. I had the sausages and mash, and my wife had the pulled lamb shepherds pie.
The location of the Castle Inn is pretty central to Bakewell and only a short walk from anywhere.
We were placed in a small room with a shower, which was just a few feet from the road. I thought it would be a lot noisier that it was but I got a great nights sleep. Although the room was small, it was fully functionable.

Breakfast was not very good for the money. Continental breakfast was a box of cereal, a choice of apple, orange or banana and a small croissant. No plain yogurt, no soft fruits, one cup of tea.
The room was a converted garage right next to a noisy road.
