We liked the staff who were very helpful. The atmosphere was very relaxed. We had two dogs and they were made to feel welcome. The furnishings and the art works were exceptional.
The bar had a very limited choice of beer.

Highly impressed with the friendliness, attentiveness and professionalism shown to us by reception and all staff at Llangoed Hall. As older couple felt very welcomed from the moment we arrived. Nothing was lacking to make us feel at home in this gorgeous, rather stately well-renovated, historic accommodation set in beautiful grounds. Currently have dietary needs which were well catered for during dinner. Breakfast was delicious. Enjoyed the smoked haddock and homemade fresh berry compote. Excellent brew of tea. Maybe not so much the kedgeree, but that was all.
Stand outs : historic collections of art, visible homage to former occupant Laura Ashley. The lovely games room with chess board and comfy sofas.
Our room ( deluxe, one up from smaller double ) was spacious, recently refreshed, spotless with an excellent bathroom. We loved the stand alone bath and excellent separate power shower.
Just thought - management may wish to consider making accommodation a little more accessible for those staying with mobility issues ?
All in all, a memorable stay. We shall return. Thank you.

Excellent location and a friendly greeting, Nice to park outside the door as we were welcomed by rain. On arrival the staff were attentive, and friendly.
Spacious gardens and room for the dog to enjoy his holiday too.
The room was nice apart from the But...which I will continue below.
Breakfast was fine but the continental lacked bread.
I guess when you see the pictures of this amazing hotel you get that picture in your head of a quiet country retreat where you could sit in the library and just de-stress. What i didn't take into consideration was other guests. We were greeted by children playing the piano and pressing musical toys whilst playing hide and seek and treating the quiet rooms like a playground. This carried on above our room where the children were jumping on and off their beds at midnight only to restart at 06.00. unfortunately we had to complain but the noise in the room stopped on day 2 we think the Manager had a word, I hope so.
Now to the afternoon tea, it fell way, way below the standard we were expecting. The finger sandwiches were overfilled, messy and the bread was bland, we were missing scones and pastries. Nobody said anything and I had to mention it. They had run out of some scones and run out of the extras that I paid an extra £18 for but nobody said anything. It included a glass of bubbles and they weren't offered. When I asked I was told they serve it at the end of the tea. It should be served at the beginning, not the end, The reason!! The guest may want to toast a celebration or simply have it as an accompaniment to the tea.
May I constructively mention it would be a great learning curve to send the chef and a waiter for afternoon tea at the Ritz or Savoy and see how it's done properly. You would enhance the experience enabling you to charge more for a better experience.
