Wonderful place to stay. The food is exquisite

Stunning place to stay. Our only criticism is that the bar staff are a little hard to find but the rest of the staff are wonderful. Stayed here a few times now

Lovely period mansion house, felt very welcomed and at home.

Loved the period features and the grounds

The evening meal we had was not good value for money, my partner had the burger was just like a chips shop burger and chips. Nothing special, and could have made it better myself. I had the fish and chips, again wasn’t very well cooked but not as bad as the burger. Unfortunately this let it down, but the rest of the stay was lovely. The morning Buffett breakfast was much better quality than the evening meal. Would defo stay again but not eat our evening meal at the location. Thanks for a lovely room and lovely staff also.

Very enjoyable, only 1 night stay so didn't get to see a lot

Room was large and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Can't really say anymore as I arrived late and left straight after breakfast, so did not see anything else!

Lovely historic property in beautiful grounds

What a fab property, a real old gem. My room was no.42 converted from the original stable block.I loved it. If you want level floors & smooth walls it's not the property for you. If you want an 1880's manor house it's great. Everything you need is in the room & was extremely clean for an older property, couldn't even find a cobweb in the rafters 20ft up!

Reception wasn’t very clearly sign posted with there being a wedding on we were worried we might walk in on the wedding when trying to find it!

Gorgeous Victorian gothic building that is not over modernised.

A beautiful old hotel, that hasn’t been over modernised, which was lovely! Set in beautiful grounds. The staff couldn’t do enough for us, they were lovely.

wet comfortable & ideal as a base for the summer school I was attending in Rugby

liked the building itself & it’s setting. Room very comfortable & clean

rather a lot of steps up to the single rooms & no lift! sash windows obviously need attention

Quite a dated property, the sheets in the room didn't fully cover the sides of the mattress and also had a hole in them. The room could do with a thorough dusting a freshen up, even just with some paint!

The history of the property, the grounds and surrounding nature park were all a treasure to learn and explore.

The staff said that we could put items in their refrigerator but I would’ve enjoyed having a mini fridge in our room.

Great staff, property needs work

The property has great potential. However, there is a huge amount of work to be done to get it up to an appropriate standard. Beds and bathrooms were, happily, very clean.

Passable

The bathroom was in need of updating. The tiles on the floor are cracked and water from the shower is able to seep below; the bath needs a small screen fitted to prevent water splashing out around the curtain. The tiles need to be replaced. The dining room tables are old and the tabletops are not easily cleaned adequately. They would benefit from replacement or, at least, covers. Be careful where your car is parked, as the birds are quite prolific!

In need of investment. New management haven’t quite got it together yet.

Clean. Decent breakfast, dietary requirements were well catered for.

Lovely location. Would come back.

Beautiful hall and gardens. Super friendly staff. Room exactly what I wanted - nice and comfy. Big bathroom. Bar I could grab some crisps and nuts from for snacks.

The television was very intermittent and didn't work properly in the beginning (room 7), I'm sure staff would have helped me with this but I just couldn't be bothered asking. I was unable to get a bath because the plug was a weird inbuild swivel one, so the force of the tap to fill it kept flipping and draining. But the shower was great.

Take your own hot water 💧

Location. Room size

No hot water room 36 . Couldn't bathe or shower for the evening or in the morning. As a plumber myself, that is a big NO NO. If they need someone to upgrade their washing facilities, please call me. The wife is absolutely devastated that we couldn't wash, I did mention it, and the young gentleman tried to tell me the cold water was hot he didn't understand me, which was very questionable. I'm not sure how they expect to make money with feedback like this and no maintenance staff on site. HOT WATER IS A MUST IT NEEDS TO BE CHECKED REGULARLY. IT REALLY SPOILT THE OCCASION

Room was decent. Food was terrible

The room was nicely appointed. Bathroom was decent enough.

The food was very poor. This impacts the rest of the stay. To boot, the food was highly overpriced, especially considering the quality. If the restaurant was closed I would consider coming back but it really impacts the stay. I booked a double bed but the bed was just two single beds pushed together. No staff were present at desk when checking in.

dissapointing by lack of staff, attention to detail and basic maintenance

Hot water temperamental, shower did not work, managed 1 bath then had to boil kettle for strip wash as water was tepid. on 2nd night, curtains in need of needle and thread in places, and not quite long enough for window. No sockets by bed a bit of issue for me due to medical equipment at night so slept on floor so could be near socket on second night, one of light switches by bed not actually working properly, one of the wall heaters not working and hall and bathroom switches back to front.. Lovely location and old building but lack of investment or basic up keep would not go amiss, also put a sign on door saying reception and actually answer the bell on disabled entrance would be good too. disabled parking spaces now have electric chargers in, so please allocate other spaces for such. shame as I had high hopes for hotel.

Very disappointed and expensive

I booked for 2 nights with meals I am vegetarian and phone and request vegetarian food. The 1st night all they could offer was curry, I hate curry, the restaurant was freezing cold the room was way too hot I didn't stop for the 2nd night, as of now they have not offered me a refund on the food or the 2nd night

Meh.

Nice grounds.

Contacted them twice to check if the EV charger was working. Both times they said yes. It was broken. Even had a sign on it to say so. The room was cold. Did get one of the two radiators working, despite mysterious controls that you can see. That banged all night to keep me awake in protest. The water was barely lukewarm. No plug near the bed. Well there was, but only one of those weird little plugs that only hotel lamps have. Had to go back out in the rain after a long journey to charge the car. It made me sad. Like it was cheap and the grounds are nice but there are better and cheaper options.
