Kamal and his family were ready to host us at very little notice after our plans changed. They welcomed us into their home like old friends, introducing us to their small children. They offered us some bissara for lunch. Kamal then took us around Sefrou for an enlightening tour (for a charge). We then had dinner all together with two other guests, some delicious starters and prune tagine. We really felt at home throughout. It was definitely the most convivial and special day we had in Morocco on this trip.
The facilities themselves are great: you will sleep upstairs in Kamal’s house, in beautifully decorated rooms full of artwork. The bed is amazingly comfortable.

Clean place, catered for travellers, owner speaks multiple languages.
We have been travelling for over 3 months all over Morocco, and this riad definitely takes the first place in overcharging with regards to what you get in return. We have stayed in various small towns and villages all over the country, in places that were more comfortable and spacious, and never had to spend that much. Moreover, it seems that the landlord does not stop ar that. The prices he charges for taking you on local trips are preposterous. We planned on staying 2 nights and decided to leave after one. Also, make sure if you reserve through booking, that you are not overcharged by the landlord in the conversion rate from Euro to Dirham.
It could have been a nice experience, Bhalil is a wonderful place. We also understand that the hotel owners were hit hard by Covid, but we definitely felt we were taken advantage of, and that is not very nice.
