Firstly, being able to park directly outside the room was a big plus, with good night lighting. The room was of a good size, comfortable beds, though an extra pillow would have been appreciated. The modern LED lighting was very good though took a little time to understand and remember which switches did what. The blue floor LEDs were perhaps a bit too bright. The bathroom with imaginatively designed walk in shower with rain shower head was brilliant. The Trussardi soaps were a nice touch.
The full length 'desk' unit was very useful. The TV was a good size and having functioning SKY system available was also appreciated, especially being able to receive English speaking services. Nice small fridge unit.
Overall the innovative design of the room or I might call a 'pod' is successful, especially the excellent sound proofing between rooms.
Breakfast was good for a Continental breakfast, lacking only in more northern European hot dishes. The scrambled eggs were appreciated. The staff on reception and on breakfast and cleaning duty were all attentive and pleasant.
Not a lot wrong, but it was awkward not having any sort of bedside table, a shelf or even a small stool would have been useful. When we asked, reception said the Pineta was 15 years old – it doesn't look it! However, for a 4 star hotel, the electrics need updating with additional sockets on the desk area and really should have USB/USB-c sockets included.
The bathroom was excellent, but again the above basin mirror really needs to be heated to avoid steaming up. There were only two misplaced towel or robe hooks, so damp towels were hung randomly anywhere possible.
The A/C did not seem very effective or powerful but did like the quiet noise it made. In high summer, temperature might be a bigger issue?
The hotel not offering a evening restaurant is common with many others and not a deal breaker, but after having a very long drive or busy all day, the thought of having to drive elsewhere to get a meal is slightly annoying.
It is a very uncommon thing to have a kettle and coffee/tea making facilities in Continental hotels. It is a very uncommon thing NOT to have a kettle in a British hotel. It would be SO appreciated if ALL hotels offered a simple kettle, sachets of coffee (instant of course!) tea bags and UHT milk. PLEASE.

The bathroom was crowded with ants, when I told the lady at the reception she replied: did you eat something? I said yes, then she replied, well we are in the countryside so we have ants… 😳😳😳
