beautiful property right in the heart of the medina. easy access to the taxi rank ( 5 min walk) and at the sweet spot of being in the medina but not being overwhelmed by the surrounding souks.
staff are excellent and the property is very nicely decorated. the terrace pool is also nice
The team at the front desk are fantastic and give a really good briefing on arrival.
There is a strange smell in the property. we were told that it was due to nearby tanneries but it was specifically in our room, so likely a air conditioning issue. the AC was also very weak compared to the other room we rented. The rooms would benefit with some dedicated tables for the kettle and crockery as the supplied one is very small .
the pool area also had a unpleasant smell, which we again were told was due to the nearby tanneries. Not sure it is the Riad's fault if their explanation is correct
Wifi is slow but I suspect it is due to the nature of the Riad (solid walls etc)
I am hoping that this feedback would be taken constructively as this is really a lovely property in a great location with great staff. For the price, the above issues do become more noticeable

Riad Houdou is an exceptional property, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, visiting from the UK, and would highly recommend it.
The entire team are very welcoming and hospitable, in particular Abdel who took the time at check-in to give us a lot of useful information regarding the Medina and help us throughout our trip. No request was too big or small.
We were lucky enough to stay in the junior suite which was well equipped, spotless, a decent size plus had its own private stunning small courtyard and pool.
Conveniently located to explore the Medina on foot, it was a quiet oasis away from the occasionally hectic surroundings and peak daytime heat, feeling very safe and secure.
There are lots of other communal spaces/break-out areas to chill out in with a few nice touches - ice cold filtered water dispensers, board games and a resident tortoise and cat!
The is also a beautiful rooftop terrace which is a nice area to relax in and to have a dip in the pool. Breakfast is served up here, which is a mix of continental style but also cooked local pancakes/eggs. Everything was tasty and fresh.

The location and the staff were great. Breakfast was excellent. Room was a bit smaller than expected.
